Gary Vaynerchuk is joined with Jimmy Trent, a longtime Vayniac and contest winner. He brought 2 Gran Reserva wines to try from the Utiel-Requena region of Spain.
lines of the day – ‘These wines are like 2 Golden Retrievers, ones a couple of years older. One chilling on the floor and the other one trying too hard, constantly bringing the ball back etc’ and ‘I know more about baseball than anyone in the world’

Great episode. Loved the retriever analogy. Our dogs are exactly in that scenario right now. Fun episode, wish I could find these wines, they sound very interesting.

Im not a steelers fan…..and im a Trent. GO redskins!

damn, forgot about the QOTD … I pimp for Twisted Oak … Coleman Nicole … Kaella … Troubadour … and any other Vayniac made wine … and occasionally cinderella wine dot com …

We should be pretty good. Jacoby Harris can be awesome, but he can also be “not so good” and throws a lot of interceptions. He has got an incredible supporting cast of running back/receivers, one of the best kickers in the nation, and a good defence. If O-line protect him, and he does not throw a lot of Int…we can be top 10. Our games 2-4 are all away at OSU, Pitt, then Clemson…..if we can win all 3 we are golden, if we win 2 of 3, I still like our chances. Okay, that was a long answer and College Football is not my favorite sport (prefer soccer, specifically Italian/international, and basketball, both pro and college)

Great episode, great question. I am heading the Legal & Product Management Department of a renowned medium-size investment firm, and I love my job, the members of my team and the firm I work for. If I was free to chose any job in the world, I'd love to be a simple worker at a nice winery located at some beautiful spot in the world, at the same compensation.

QOTD: I'm a system administrator which is my dream job. But if I could get my wife to make more $ (or find me one that had $), I'd be a stay-at-home dad. My boys are awesome & I want more time with them so that I can mold them into being awesome men.

Nice job, Jimmy! You may not have been the most energetic guest, but I you brought a lot to the table. Congrats on your upcoming new baby as well – I wish you and your wife the best.
Q: No QOTD: I'm a an engineer for NASA which is pretty cool and I like my job a lot, but, I get more excited about wine. I'd love to be involved in the wine industry somehow.

Nice episode and a really great picture depicting the death of traditional media. Kudos. QOTD: I love owning a sandwich shop but I'd like to use my brain much more…maybe running other businesses and/or solving problems for other people. One sandwich shop is way too easy on the brain. I'd also like to be paid for taking photographs too.
Jssharp2
QOTD: I own and run Batcave Studios @ Sharp Recording Service in Southbridge MA. I record bands, singers rappers, and solo instrumentalists. I also perform as the studio drummer when needed. I'd love to play in a well booked and well paid jazzy bules band and have a personal roadie to set up my equipment

Fantastic QOTD! I work in old media! For a Danish magazine publisher and I manage our subscription dept. Our ad prices are high, but what do you do when advertisers pay the price?? I really enjoy my job, but I'd rather have an online wine store and do a videoblog about wine and Premier League soccer! I'm not kidding. I know it's sad. Yeah yeah, I hear you guys. Crush It…carpe diem…get busy livin' or get busy dying! I also have a mortgage, a wife and two kids…but one day, one day my friends…
Great show Jimmy (and GV, you were okay too 😉

Lacrosse….really? who cares about that. Let's talk college football….GO GATORS!!!

What musician? Trent Van Weasel? Drummer #13 for Spinal Tap? :D!!(yeah, yeah… T.R.)

Hi Gary, Jacqueline here from Toronto!!
Nice show. Hey Jimmy, you seem like a sweet soul. Congrats on the upcoming baby! I love that you love wine and that you are trying different things. Life is too short to stick to the same ole same ole!
I too prefer the old world styling. I like to call them the introverts……you know, once you linger on them a little while then the nuances and subtleties come through. New world are the extroverts to me. Jump out at you. More like a younger sibling looking for immediate attention. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm feeling very Seinfeld right now.
Q.O.T.D. Great, great question!! Kudos Jimmy! Well I actually am doing what I love and that is teaching, tasting, talking about wine and spirits and beers! Just like Mr. G.V. only not as big…….yet! You're my hero GARY V!
If I could do something else that I love it would be probably to be able to have a full time trainer so that I could become a faster runner….as in marathon runner. Being an athlete and coming from a professional football player as a father (soccer) it's in the blood. The competitve spirit, pushing yourself to the limits of endurance. Oh yeah I'm getting pumped just thinking about it!!
Have you ever considered following the Toronto Maple Leafs?
Maybe I could be a stand up comedian!
Oh Gary……..How's about having a girl with a competitive spirit on Wine Library TV.
Ciao for now! Jacq.
A dumb Rhein king
All three way different.
Btw, I hope your wife didn’t go to Florida state 🙂 (today’s ep)

Qotd: Part1 Small business owner Part2 Get paid to review wines
This is comment #2 for me so I guess I am not a lurker anymore. QOTD. This question isn't about wine so I can actually answer it! (C.K.C… not old enough to drink) Right now I am working in a warehouse for an industrial painting company sorting and organizing equipment. I am going to school for a Bachelors in Computer Information Systems and a minor in Entrepreneurial Business. I would really like to be a Audio technician for a recording studio because music is my true passion.
I'm still mad about the Steelers beating the Seahawks in the Superbowl. QOTD: 1) Pharmacist 2) I wish I was making wine in Walla Walla.
Cubatobaco (Ray)
Jimmy, you did a great job!! God bless you for being a Pens fan, but I am a Dallas fan. I thought it was great that your dad had to coin toss for the two teams. Glad to see a longtime Vayniac make an appearance.
QOTD: Work for Enterprise Rent-A-Car (hate it), but would love to own my own cigar company (once to embargo is dropped…lol). I was in the biz for 10+ years and left because the taxes and laws got crazy. I've also been kicking the idea of opening a wine store in my area as the ones here blow. Thanks to GV, not only am I broke from cigar purchases, I now collect/drink wine…lol.
NY Pete
you did a damn good show with the vaynermeister a little long but that was GV's fault … 🙂
Loved this episode! Jimmy, you rocked it, man. Nice work!
QOTD: My paying job is a network operations specialist position specifically for maritime satellite communications. It pays the bills, and does a better job at that than any job I've ever had, but:
My passion is flying and aviation, and blending that with new media. If I could get paid to cover aviation with some form of digital media, that would be a dream job.
You know, I'd also love to teach people how to fly. To be a certified flight instructor would just rock. I can't imagine the satisfaction of giving others the gift of flight. Too bad it's so difficult to make a living at it …

Maybe bottle variation or cooked. Get back on cindy, the bad guys have left us alone for a while.

I live in NC at the moment. No permanent roots here, but I've lived here the longest I've lived anywhere.

Great show. Jimmy you're a really nice guy and sounds like you are pretty deep into wine.
QOTD: Running my own software company, not sure what would be better (a question i often ask myself) maybe starting a restaurant at some point and getting a vineyard in New Zealand.
JayZee13
You got that, right, Jimmy. Excellent QOTD, though. I have found a lot of the answers pretty interesting and surprising.
Of course you are, i would be too if it was the other way around. Is everyone up there still blaming the refs? 😉 Kinda a boring game though, wasn’t it?
