line of the day – ‘the difference between a Harvard Gal and a Florida State chick’

Our great leader GV almost seemed a bit bored during this episode, easily distracted and pretty uninterested. In his defence the wines were always going to be poor and he did give them his full attention when tasting. Is he getting bored with producing the shows? …I hope not

    hey hey

  • Every time I try a “Supermarket” wine from Austrailia I think to myself, “Maybe this one will be different….” only to be disappointed with the SAME OLD THING. I'm done with them…

QOTD: A juicy perfectly ripe Peach.

The funny thing about this week's shows is that I would not buy any of the wines.

  • JayZee13

Maybe the 09 Yellow Tail Shiraz is better than other recent vintages because I have been generally appalled by their efforts over the years. Again, not that interesting of a show for me and my palate, but it is interesting to see you break down some ridiculously common wines.

QOTD: Rainer Cherries followed by cantaloupe.

  • rainer cherries are sooo good. That is a great call. What is interesting is that nobody says pink lady apples… kudos to you! What wines do you currently dig?

  • shastert

    QOTD: Peaches

  • None of these wines excite me either…

    QOTD: Raspberries

  • stephenjohnbryde

    oh
    I don't eat fruit

  • AllanJonassen

Interesting Show! The 3 wines tasted are all obnoxiously widely avaliable…

Well, we could all have predicted that none of them would rock the world, i would say you have to double the price, to get anything decent (in Australia, that is just the way it is..)

Some are on budgets, some like sugar, because they sell boatloads of these three wines all around the globe. This was the great branding show… Thnx G…

    Qotd: Cucumber 🙂

  • lau1

    Avocado.

  • Kylemittskus

    MANGO! Or Blueberries. Mangberries?

  • Jim Sharp

    QOTD: A Georgia Peach!

  • Jeremy

    Sir Gary,

Fantastic show! I possess many a Yellow Tail Shiraz that I continue to successfully 're-gift'. If anyone has recently received a bottle of Yellow Tail from me, they are free to call me a bag of douche!

My desert island fruit would definitely have to be steak. How delectable indeed!

    Cheers!

    Jeremy

  • AllanJonassen

There are worse bottles of juice out there. That's just my opinion.
Yes, it's sweet, like a mountain of candy but not appaling by any stretch of the imagination… 🙂

    Cheers to you!

  • Aha…close…it was episode 5!

Nothing beats a home grown ripe black plum.

  • Had them all long time ago and I remember liking the Tail Shiraz whne it first came to sweden, but a year later it just was to much, If I want sugar I'll drink massfabricated lemonade. Typically all three in are available Sweden, and they all cost 2-3 dollars more (we have high vat and alcohol tax)

    QOTD: Blueberry, the swedish kind

  • I've had the Lindemans and the Yellow Tail before, never hda the Jacobs Creek. I just had the Excelsior Chardonnay from South Africa last night…was 10 bucks and pretty good. BTW, my Cindy wine from Monday just arrived. YES!

    QotD: Watermelon, seedless!

  • aaroncello

GARY! Not that you don't know it, but you have been on a role. Enjoying this “Golden Age” of WLTV.
Desert Island fruit……..would've said pluots recently, but they've been disappoint me lately.
Let's go seedless grapes. That seems disappointing.

  • Geoffpm1

Ripe mangoes right off the tree in Jamaica – Bombay Mangoes as they are called there

  • Robert B

    Fun, great, easy-going relaxed show.

Desert Island Fruit – Blueberries – so I could still make decent muffins.

  • I can't believe you did the Yellow Tail. That's blowing my mind. I love cantaloupe but I have been into dates lately.

How about a double 00 jersey? That seems to be popping up more on your shows.

  • Stefan

When I drink a Tail wine, I allways try to think about how it is made. And then, It stops to tast good in my mind. Sorry, but it is an industrial product.

  • Randall

    I can’t believe you replied to someone’s avatar! That’s gotta be a first! 😀

  • Mango only pawn in game of life… *tear*

  • QOTD: Strawberries! Love 'em…

  • castello

Mott! Who is this guest guy/gal????

  • castello

Probably go with Bananas with a little almond butter.

  • DickSyncrude

    QOTD: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…Ranier Cherries

  • Brunellofello

What a fun show Gary. The last ten minutes just flew by. QOTD: I got to go with the berries: the blues and the blacks.

  • zrm

THANK YOU GARY FOR THE BEST WEEK!

    QOD: orange
