Gary introduced the Tiger Woods Cigar Guy first on this episode of WLTV image at http://kahunasfoodandwine.com/

  • Not only is Josh a repeat guest, he truly has an aura of knowledge. In addition, he might be the least “interrupted” guest ever, well deserved.

  • Lucky #7 🙂

Really great show. I love deep level wine discussion. You guys can’t get too nerdy for me…and this wasn’t even close. Looking forward to part 2.

    Gary,

    What’s with all the guests?

I’m gonna try that Andrew Will and see what all the fuss is about. Got to love the Cab Franc. Great guest!

  • My views on these types of (over quota) episodes is well known.

  • Good to see this guest back. His magazine has the best wine articles anywhere.

  • Early bird for me. Now to watch the show. I’m sure it will be good.

  • Hilarious 🙂

  • eh, spectacular, blow away, great, balance, beautiful an so on and then 95? how must a 97 or 99 be then?

Wow geek city but I love it. Washington state wines still among the best.

Awesome start. wonder if Josh prefers the Champoux to the Sorella…. apples and oranges perhaps.

  • Great to have Josh back again. Looking forward to Part II!

  • This looks to be an epic show, reminds me of the Kermit Lynch series.

great episode so far Gary ………. really a great guest. I enjoyed the discussion so far on the 2 wines.

  • Nice start… seems it’s going to be another epic two part episode.

  • Missatiejacket

    nice.

Gary, you often mention the permitted alcohol discrepancy on wine labels and you are usually oversimplifying things. These are the facts: below 14% there is an allowed discrepancy of 1.5%. Above 14% that discrepancy must not be more than 1%. A wine that says it’s below 14% must be below 14 and a wine that says it’s 14% or above must be above 14. So all those European wines that say 12.5% can be 11%-13.9% (makes sense since almost all non Spanish EU table wines will be in that range). A wine that states 13% could be as low as 11.5% but not higher than 13.9%. A wine that says 14.1% can’t be lower than 14% but can be up to 15.1%. If you don’t believe me (and you shouldn’t) email one of your winemaker friends in CA and ask them. But please get it right next time. I love the informational content but it should be correct or it shouldn’t be included. Thanks for another great show. I look forward to part 2.

One of my favorite guests so far. Love the episode.

  • Great ep. Brought back a lot of memories.
When I first got into wine, we had a lot of ’89-’91 Cali cabs.
Also had a ’94 or ’95 Andrew Will (“Sol vineyard”, IIRC) in my “cellar” for a year or two.

  • jimkay

Nice commentary on the Andrew Will. A great wine with none of the mailing list nonsense. He makes it, you buy it.

  • ANOTHER GUEST!!!! AHHHH, shoot me!

Just kidding, of course. Loving the discussion and info. See you tomorrow!

  • Anonymous

This guy is the best guest ever. Period.

The idea of making it a yearly regular alone should keep you going Gary 😀

  • This was a nerdy episode and I liked it! Can’t wait to see the second part…

  • woops, the least number of comments for a long time, can that tell you something, are too nerdy, too nerdy?
I don’t mind I’m a nerd, but don’t forget the audience, changing the wine world , right?

  • Stephan

Love it, nerdy, full of info’s about what is/was going on in the US with wines… Thank’s looking forward to the rest of this!

  • Fantastic show. This is what all guest shows need to be like. Josh Greene dropping some awesome, nerdy knowledge. The man is a mega nerd; love it! Really looking forward to part 2 today.

  • Gotta love the super nerd shows! How is everything, Jason? Drinkin’ the good stuff?

  • Tryin to! Got a ’66 Haut Brion on the chopping block for this weekend, so I think that qualifies as “good stuff”. Been workin like a dog, but been real fun. Really gotta get back to doing some writing, I miss it…

  • ooh excellent, looking forward to this…really liked the last time that Josh was on!

  • D’Oh! On Heidi no less…

  • A REAL nerd episode… remember Josh from last year’s episodes… great stuff… joined the Selyem list… gotta get me some of those PEE-NOOOS

  • I’m definitely in the red to white camp…whites I like best have a cleansing quality. At big parties, and meals, at the end of the night, rather than port…I’d rather finish the night with a crispy white…

  • Dude, a ’66 Haut-Brion!? That’s sick. Keep hustlin’. Can’t wait to hear how that wine shows!

  • passion4wine

great guest.. I really enjoy listening to the discussion regarding the cab in cali from the 90’s and the Washington state discussion. It kills me that I cannot taste these wines though.. so a bit bittersweet! Beyond that it is about learning and tasting what I can in my local region. Thank you Gary for your passion and your thunder!

I remember Buying Andrew Will wines straight from Chris “Back in the Day”….when they were ALL under $30….oh how I miss those days….

  • Anonymous

Oh…..and Bob Newsom at Boudreaux Cellars makes better Cabernet than Andrew Will and Quilceda Creek…no lie boys!
