  • Sweden, rental apartment complex, had it since 2001. Sweden used to be the best, now we are only 10th in the world rating speed, availibility and new tech in the IT, Corpoartions have slowed things down, gotten lazy. But they are introduing 4G big now, I guess GV is right on that go mobile thing, but I hate mobile. It’s slow, akward and you get boxed in and have to pay for everything

  • Whites can work (sparkling actually real well), reds are abysmal, beers really work. But good point. Non-Alcoholic wine show! I’m all for that, expanding my palate.

  • will there be an epsiode tonight with the jets loss yesterday? Will Mott have a nice evening or will my ancestors beeat the Giants? Questions to be asked this wintery day when darkness lurk until 9 am and seeps back in the sight at 3 pm, here way up in the north of the globe.

    Thanks, mattgmann. I took castello’s advice and went firefox. I am Loving life. Agee, though, that it has 800 million options that I don’t really need and speed isn’t the best, but for now I’ll try it… Anything to get some relief!

    We’ve had 4g for a little while here. I could care less. I purposely use a 6 year old cell phone. Data plans cost too much IMO, and I pay enough for my home service.

    2008 Bedrock Wine Co. The Bedrock Heirloom
    8/15/2010 rated 94 points: I was really Wowed by this wine. Opened the bottle, poured one glass and left them both out for 3+hours. Color is very dark almost black and blue. The nose was closed at first, then it smelled like licorice and concord grapes. Clean perfectly ripe fruit that sings with sharp acidity and balance. Finish that lasts for 1min+. Wonderful, much better than I expected. Should drink well over the next 5 years. Going to buy more. (1385 views)

    Gary, thanks, I love the wine geek knowledge, even if you cannot pronounce most of the foreign words correctly. 😉 Nice little show, although I would have liked to have gotten your score on the second wine. My guess is about 90 based on your tasting notes.

    QOTD: Saint Chinian? I must admit that I had never heard of it until I watched this episode. I have had a Faugeres about a month ago and it was great – it went very well with the venison we had. In Vegas a couple of months ago, we had a Madiran which was the first time I’ve had that region’s wine – loved that Tannat!

    @alexander – why did you consider this wine “nerdy” per the QOTD? Because it was an eclectic blend? I certainly wouldn’t consider anything from California “nerdy” as far as wine goes. Not criticizing, just wondering what your thoughts were…

    I’m going to disagree with @ALLAN – I would definitely decant it for a couple of hours. Angelo Gaja makes powerful Barbarescos and Barolos and they last and last and last. Go for it! And congratulations on your graduation!!.

    Although a great producer… Bad year, so and so fruit… Why decant it? sorry for asking.? Indeed he makes powerful Barbarescos etc. but 1983 vs. 1997 is a completely different experience. Can we agree on that then. Or should we agree to disagree? 😛 Cheers JZ13 :oP

    I can only stick to my guns and say don’t decant. But who cares, Casaccio should do it the way he wants to do it. I only hope he gets a great experience with a mature wine. More of us should have that experience!

    Gonna have to try this area Gary, not had much south france and none from st Chinian.
    I know you like hard data Gary so, the other night i tabulated number of bottles tasted in my first year of being into wine, ( i logged all my tastings and kept most all my corks from purchases all year long) I can confidently tell you within 20 bottles accuracy that i tasted 238 bottles of wine in my first year, thanks much to your teachings Gary! Im shooting for double in 011!
    QOTD: just drank a NV Henri Goutorbe Cuvee prestige that made me nerd out quite a bit.
