This is my favourite episode ever. As a fellow Jets fan, that is exactly how I felt and exactly as I acted. We’re not greedy – just one Superbowl will do. Just one.

Oh man…we here in Chicago feel your pain. I felt like you did all day and had to teach 7th grade to boot. Needless to say, it was a waste. You’ve inspired the husband to break out the bourbon. Sad days, sad days.

  • On a day of bad news and heartbreak for GV and the Jets, some good news for these old friends of the Thunder Show. (interviewees from episode #829-830.)

  • I laughed. I cried.
You can tell someone really has a connection to their audience when they can post a 5 minute video with no dialog and it gets this many comments in the first two hours.
You wear your heart on your sleeve and we love you for it.

Hang in there, GV. We know it is tough, but things will work out for the Jets!

You an aweful lot by saying absolutely nothing, not that I could hear. Your passion for the Jets has made me a fan, so I feel for you. I had a similar experience with the Vancouver Canucks 2 years in a row, and hence I no longer have season’s tickets. You on the other hand will get through this and be there next year when they do go to the Super Bowl.

Hey Gary, chin up, the Jets might have had a poor first half, but their second half was dominating, and they stopped Pittsburgh from scoring anything in the second half, this shows the Jets are on their way, I expect great things next season.

  • DaveAll

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNYYYYYYYYYYYYY. loved how you pretended to be so hurt. hahahahaha. Only a true fan would sit though this 5 minutes. hahahaha.
You were so perfect for all those sports nuts that go over the edge ON A GAME! hahahahaha.
phew, can’t drink bourbon straight. phew.

Tough break Gary – I can relate. I am a Pats fan so at least you can look back fondly at beating our butts last week.

Its actually an a very old puppy

  • Terrible episode. Might as well cried us a river there.

Gary, you have resorted to performance art.. this is very sad indeed… could we at least have a rant on how Mendenhall manhandled the Jets defense like cheerleaders?

  • Yes, tough break, Gary! I’m a Detroit Lions fan. This IS my favorite episode.

In the past few years, I was really rooting for the Jets to lose, just to see the resulting yearly video of despair…yeah it was a schadenfreude thing. But this year, I was genuinely rooting for them. Somehow you won me over to them. So, I feel bad about the loss. I mean, I’m from Seattle and even the SeaBirds got to the Super Bowl more recently. Oh well, at least your team HAS a future. Good luck next year.

  • Cro?! Really?!!

    GV:

I’m proud of you. A difficult time for you, to be sure. And yet, you’re here, posting an…”episode.” This is the Gary of old, and this is why you don’t suck too too much.

    Yours truly,
    ~TSL

  • the “love” feels amazing!

    Dear Gary:

I was rooting for the jets and thinking of you. I hope in due time you can still be proud of the jets for their fantastic season and incredible win over the patriots. Think of all the heartbreak Indy fans felt before they broke through.

P.S. The jets have made the playoffs every year since Mischa’s birth! : )

  • Gary, I couldn’t agree with you more. I know my Bears were only 1 game away from the Super Bowl as well this year and I did pretty much exactly the same thing you do in this video yesterday. Was really looking forward to that Bears/Jets rematch in the big game. Maybe next year! Until then, a toast, to a great season for both of our teams. Next year, WE CRUSH IT!

My 5 year old son on watching this…”Dad, maybe we should write to Gary and tell him we are sorry the Jets lost. He’s really sad.”

  • Gary Vee, there is always next year. (Chin Up, and don’t dwell on the past, sure it hurts they lost, it will pass.)

Haven’t had Bourbon in so many years, probably about 17 or so…

  • Oh man! Classic and honest, the GaryVee way! I loved this episode, I like when people dont pretend, they just let you know how they feel. The ones who support you, loved this episode as much as any other. Your a good man and will see a Super Bowl. Although, if you lost the first one, I dont think there would have been a second. Cheers

I’d like to have my 5:07 back please. It’s just a freaking game, Gary. My 5 year old son who loves the Jets was disappointed but didn’t mope for 5 minutes after I told him the score this morning.

  • Anonymous

Yeah, I get that. But I think if you want to enter that regular contender, borderline dynasty status, you have to put up with some years of disappointment first. You guys aren’t built to be a flash in pan team like the Cardinals a few years ago. You’re in it for the long haul. Patience will be rewarded.

  • Anybody who says it’s just a freaking game doesn’t understand Gary.

  • Anonymous

    Great, great show. Thanks, Gary.

  • No, that is you today, right now, how you feel. Dont change for those that live through others. Your human and that is why you are where you are. Oh, think how the Buffalo fans must feel.

Gary boy… chin up my man. I felt the same when I finally opened a cherised bottle of Brunello that I saved for years for a special occasion and it was corked..!!!! sad…
**I was actually afraid when the Jets didn’t elect to receive when they won the toss !
Lost momentum right from the start…. ughh… how’s the bourbon?

  • Randall

Actually, Ryan is Stepping up to the plate like a good coach should and talking about Marching down the field to victory like any good Foot soldier would. I feel that he has a lot of Sole and with this attitude over-Arching everything else, they will overcome their Achille’s Heel and Kick it into high gear next year, Toeing the line and bringing it home like a Walk in the park… tough as Nails!
    :D!!

Welcome (back). I’m a charter member from Episode 1 my friend…

Sorry the Jets lost. Would have loved to see you dash onto the field in celebration. I feel bad for you, hope the bourbon eased a little of the pain. On to Fantasy Baseball—you’re the best in the league.

  • Randall

Lighten up, nay-sayers. Did you Really expect any thunder today?
    Cheer up, G…

  • Anonymous

Yeah, I guess I don’t understand people who can let a game played by millionaires ruin their day…or week…or month…or…

…but I still love your regular WLTV shows, Gary. I know your “friends” will pummel me after this post.

Gary, Had you done a regular show today, it would have been an embarrassment. Stay true to your roots.

During the game, I just kept thinking – Gary’s going to take this hard.

    Sorry Man,

    Mike B

Pack vs Jets would have been a great Superbowl.
Now I really hope the Packers win.

  • You make me want to cry!

As a person who loves to win and is competitive as hell, I understand the heartbreak. I truly believe that when the day comes that you own the Jets, you’ll see a superbowl win. And I’ll be thinking of you on that special day. You’re in my thoughts Gar!

    This episode = instant classic!

Sorry, dude. Your Jets didn’t bring their “A” game for the first half of the game. Sad reality.

How’s that Snapple Ice Tea taste? At least drown your sorrows in the real deal. The amount in the bottle didn’t equal the amount in the glass.

  • Anonymous

Gary, I don’t know the feeling you’ve got right now.

But I can say this: You guys have a great owner who wants to win, and who KNOWS what it takes to win! You guys are stacked! Leonard and Kris Jenkins will be back and Sanchez will be that much better. Keep yo head up.

    Sincerely,
A Redskins fan who was too young to remember the good ‘ol days
