100/100

This is my favourite episode ever. As a fellow Jets fan, that is exactly how I felt and exactly as I acted. We’re not greedy – just one Superbowl will do. Just one.

  • Cheer up, buddy.

Below is my last post from 9 months ago and I hadn’t watched the show since then…go figure. And now your silent movie of dispair has brought me back. Life is a comic tragedy!

(9 months ago) “The last couple weeks of the show have been the best since I started watching! GV you’re “En Fuego”! “You can’t stop him, you can only hope to contain him.” ~ TheDude

  • Eh pa fucking ic classic video homeboy!!!

you my friend just dont get sports

  • Ohhhh my man. I felt that way just two weeks ago at the hands of your boys. I ran through all the “ifs” myself. IF we could convert a 3rd and 1, (Steelers converted the same same play at the end on 3rd and 8) IF we had not run into the punter, IF we had stopped Cromartie on the ensuing kickoff from running to the 40, IF Caldwell didn’t give the Jets a timeout and IF Braylon Edwards didn’t 1) push off and 2) catch the ball which is a feat for him. It happens. I feel for ya though if I had drank that much bourbon I would be dead right now. Hate that stuff.

Be grateful, you were close. I will see you on TV at the draft.

    Cheers!

P.S. Yes, they should have run the ball at the goal line. Horrible play calling. Go Pack!

This reminded me of a song by Pink Floyd called; Wish You Were Here.

I think the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills fans are ones that know pain. The pain of getting there 4 times and never being able to hold that trophy. That is pain in the sports sense.

I do believe the Pittsburgh fans know pain, at least if they lived before the mid 70’s when they started winning all their championships. I think every fan has felt pain at one time or another. Just look at the Washington Senators who were the Montreal Expos before that, bringing up all those world class players never being able to hold on to them and win their own championships.

When my team loses, I usually go for my bottle of Laphroaig !

  • told you the Jets were not coming into our house and beating the Steelers!
I was impressed with the comeback though. Maybe next year you win the division and play at home. Big difference with the home crowd.

  • I told you that the Jets were not coming into Heinz Field and beating the Steelers.
Nice comeback though, I was impressed by Sanchez. Maybe next year you win the division and play at home.

  • Some teams have never been to the Super Bowl, some teams never had a Namath and very few have as die-hard and true of a fan as GV….they’ll be back — but I know the last de-feet was tough….sorry GV.

  • Gary,

I am a long time viewer, first time contributor to the show but felt I had to provide you some solace that you are not alone. I also made the trek to Steeltown to root on the gang in green and am felling your pain. However, I decided to go with the Lagavulin 16 Yr Single Malt instead. Try and keep you head up and hope the third time is a charm. Maybe next year we can play a game in our house. Keep doing what your doing… love the show.

    Fellow Jets fan (Go-Packers!!)

I must say, even without trying the bourbon that Gary was “drinking” you made a far superior choice in spirits.

QOTD: How many hardcore vayniacs watched the whole thing? No lying!!!!!!

    Um, of course, Hello!!

    Look at the bright side:

There’s always next year, or the year after that, and so on,,
Maybe it’s time to switch teams, like Manchester United ?

NY needs a new team franchise….

    Cheers

The peat is strong with that one, drown your woes in smoky deliciousness; I like it.

    Classic GV.
My stomach turned at the mere thought of chugging that much bourbon in 5 minutes, though.

Next season, my friend, next season!

Classic Vaynerchuk! Sorry for your loss. Maybe you should root for the best team in the NHL (Vancouver Canucks).

  • Pirata Cofresi

Wow!!! It must be the first episode I can remember without any kind of intro, info, review of any kind!

Good lord my brother, it is only going to get more painful if you end up making more money and buying the Jets, so I suggest you stay a good fan, and put your efforts in to something that won’t disappoint you that much like…WINE!

Cheer up bro, that was too sad. It looked like someone sucked 2 liters of your blood!

I watched the whole episode and was amazed that Gary or Mott didn’t crack up.

Watched the whole thing a couple of times. LMAO

  • I feel your pain– was sitting in section 219 and just sat with my jaw wide open in the first half.. felt like a Monday night in Foxboro redo….after going to Indy last year and Pittsburgh this year (not to mention Denver in ’98), it is getting harder and harder to take. Only true saving grace of the weekend was a great dinner at Capital Grill on Saturday with Jets Uncorked and Chiminey Rock Cab. Hard to keep the food down on Sunday though. Back to the old refrain, wait until next year.

Were you always this miserable in school too, when they asked you to read out loud ?

Been there/here already this season. Last 7 minutes of that Giants/Eagles game. Absolutely crushing 🙁

I am so sorry. This episode should be sent to NFL films for use at the end of their highlight film of this game.

  • Life is too short to allow a team to control your emotions!

But on the positive at least you didn’t spit!

    aloha!

I was actually surprised 5 minutes passed so quickly, the anticipation of him saying something and trying to listen to his half incoherent mumblings made the 5 minutes fly by!

I felt really bad for the Jets lost, we all know how much it means for you Gary.

I myself had my pains with Soccer, my team lost one of the most unbelievable matches in history!
I was there, nobody told me, I saw fathers and sons crying, it was as bad as a defeat can be. ( Watch this ridiculously biased video, made by the other team, the hated Gremio, to have an idea of what happened: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjXG87Yw4ys )

Bottom line, as much as it hurts ?dying on the beach?, the NY JETS made a very beautiful season, especially by kicking the Pats ass, there is always hope for next season!

Thanks GV for sharing with us this painful moment. Friends are for this too always.

God bless you, Gary! This too shall pass and your NY Jets will be on the road to Super Bowl XLVI in 2012!!!!!!!! Believe and it will be!

  • QOTD: How many Jets does it take to get to the Superbowl??

Answer: 2 – One for the Packers & One for the Steelers….

  • Vintage Vaynerchuk!!

  • As a HUGE Packers fan, I will make sure my team does everything they can to beat the steelers in the Super Bowl!

QOTD: Scotch or Bourbon? Depending on the type of bad mood I’m in, it’s either quadruple Jameson’s on the rocks or Lagavulin with no ice.

  • Onslow

Jameson is neither scotch or bourbon, It’s Irish Whiskey Mr.

Please try Ardbeg Corryvreckan and get your rocks off………. !

  • LMFAO…not at your sadness but at the guts to be real. Sorry Gary for your disappointment. There were great teams this weekend and anyone of them could have been the winner. Here we go Steelers, beat Green Bay!

  • Tom

Chin up Gary. At least you aren’t a Lions fan.

  • Tomorrow’s another day…..

Tequila works better. At 52 I have been a SF Giants fan since I was 4, when we used to sit in the cheap seats. Season tickets, 105 loss seasons, 103 wins and no playoffs, years of pain and F**** Dodger fans….. I have not seen every game but a lot and after 40+ years we got our WS. JET’s are on the way up not the way down. How many day til the Draft?

  • Anonymous

That’s exactly what I thought. I thought for sure he was going to start cussing like a sailor or at least Yosemite Sam LOL.

  • Best Episode ever. Nothing could sum up a nightmare weekend any better

One day my friend. One day you will go there.

In the mean time You’ll Never Walk Alone.

  • Closing in on episode 1K! That’s something to get pumped about.

You’re an emotional dude, Gary. I can respect that. Cheer up though, I hate to see you so upset.

QOTD: Scotch is my fav. It just puts hairs on your chest.

  • Onslow

I have no team, I only have a bottle of Laphroaig 🙂
