Cool show GV. I say a little of everything. Head to head is okay, as long as it’s compare/contrast and not just a what’s better.

I absolutely love having a couple wines from the same area, year, and varietal and different vinters, just to see what the winemaker brings…thatwould be totally fun to see.

    More shoutouts! More Mott!

Hey saw this today. Great stuff http://www.jamessuckling.com/retail-tasting-wine-library.html

Are we going to see Mr. Suckling on WLTV?

  • Randall

I miss her, too. She always seems gracious and happy to be there, as well as knowledgeable. I’m afraid I might have to duel it out with Lord Jeremy for the fair maid’s hand…

QOTD: I like to see you mix in short eps here and there so I don’t mind the shorter show. However, I do love the brown bag eps and of course anything with Sasha in it. 🙂

Thanks so MUCH for the shout out GV, love u man!

May the best man win 😉

  • ALLAN

YEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW, THAT COULD BE SOME sexy STUFF!!!!!! BRING IT ON!!!!!!!

  • TommyB

QOTD: if you’re gonna do tight eps make em once a week – max.. I don’t want things to get too tight.
Head to head good idea, maybe with wines from same place/region/varieties. Bordeaux vs Bordeaux, Pinot Noir vs Pinot Noir etc…

  • Anonymous

I could have sworn I have had the wine before. Could have sworn. hmmmmm

Anyway QOD: I like tight gary it works. My fav is brown bags and I will repeat my suggestion from last year at this time

March Madness Brown Bag Bracket. Your 4 regions are like White, Red, Sparkling/Rose and like something else and your opening round match-ups are like same region or varietal and you taste until you have a champ. you could do 3-5 min shows for each matchup. Seeding could be done my retail price or “previous ratings” If you want an epic wine quest this is it gary. please consider it.

As per regular formats of shows if you are doing 5 a week 3-4 being tight would be great and maybe a guest or friday couch show as the other.

And I am still looking for some brazilian sparkling haven’t tracked any down yet.

    Very sexy.

  • QOTD: more wines plz. video should be about 15 min.

FYI – I’m lucky to be fairly local to WL. Anytime I’ve met or had KMurph help me in the store, she’s just as nice as on the show.

QOTD — a week (even a 4 day week) of 20-30 minutes shows can be tough, even when interesting. I think the super-short (sorry, ‘concise’ and ‘wltv’ don’t really go together in my mind) shows are good for a change of pace, but I like the 3-4 wines, on a theme, 12-15 minute format best, with some variety.

Do we get a double blind with black glasses for show 1000 btw?

  • Charlotte K. Jensen

U must send her a very big thanks from me the next time U see her. I’m so far away, just visiting WL is a huge dream, can not even begin to describe how cool it would be with her helping me out. Lucky U.

  • i’m new to this blog but already love it. I like the episodes where i can see you taste multiple wines and explain them. I appreciate it when you compare and contrast the tastes. also you hilarious and genius! i really enjoy this Vlog!

I have been trying to track the Brazilian sparkles down since the CENSORED FOR SECURITY
and I just can’t find any

  • Gary V: If you’re going to do one per show, then make sure you educate us on the varietal/region in more depth. But, for me really, the format is meh. People who don’t have the time for more than 5 minutes need an app for their iPhones/iPads so they can listen to you while working out or what not. I like the brown bag blind tastes. Your palate is pretty spot on, so it makes you look good, right?

  • TheGreatWazu

You are too creative to be teathered to structure. Do what you want when the feeling hits you then roll with your gut. Silent majority? Haaaa.

  • Anonymous

Yeah Baby!!!!!! Great show, really had “The Thunder” rolling. This wine really intrigues me a lot. The dryness and the pepper is what is selling me, plus, it is from the Loire Valley. I just may have to order a couple bottles from “The Lib”.

“PORK PULLED SANDWICH”, LMAO! Is this where the pig pulls the sandwich? Is the sandwich on a little cart being pulled by the pig? CLASSIC!

Mott, you definitley need to spend some time in Touraine. Very Nice! I think GV should send you there on his dime. You deserve it Mott!

QOTD: I have always professed the 10-15 minute show, 1-2-3 bottles, what ever. Then maybe when you have guests, it is your longer 30 minutes at least, so we can get to know the guest.

  • Mega meh.

QOTD: bad idea, I don’t think anyone really likes these types of shows. So nice try looking for a reason to be lazy and do less content.

3 or more wines from the same region or varietal, brown bag = the best shows

  • Charlotte K. Jensen

Can’t get them in Denmark either 🙁

Really like the one wine format as a “every now and then” format. Gives an opportunity to focus on just the one wine and not try to keep say three wines going at one time. Rather just try to absorb your comments one at a time.

  • Anonymous

QOTD: Like the one wine shows every now and then. My favorite are the blind tastings tho…..

  • QotD: So, wait. You say that the commenters tend to want longer episodes, but the “silent majority” of emailers prefer shorter episodes. Wouldn’t that so-called “silent majority” be a bunch of LURKERS, then? You can’t deride and call out the lurkers for not commenting and then turn around and prop them up as a group worthy of serious consideration. Do you like lurkers or not, Gary?

My preference lies with longer episodes. 10-16 minute episodes are great. Longer episodes are good too. I’m fine with one wine if the episode is long enough in terms of minutes.

  • Anonymous

Hi Gary, continue to mix up the episodes. That brings (and keeps) the thunder! Personally, I prefer the longer episodes even if I don’t have a lot of time. For me, the words ‘wine’, ‘fast’ and ‘short’ don’t fit in one sentence. Wine is about taking time. Time to enjoy, to inform yourself, to discover new things, to discuss, to taste, etc…

  • Anonymous

I prefer the tight 3 wine shows. Explore one region, with three wines and you can say a lot about that area in 12 minutes.

But if you do more one wine shows then maybe you really can make it tight and only five minutes–I think that is a real challenge for you to keep it that focused.

One man, one wine! Boring. RRRRRRRRandom rules!
    Nice job today though.

  • Charlotte K. Jensen

    and more KMurph.

    CHEESY CHEESTER!!!! :oP

I like the 10 – 15 min. segments. If you adopt this process maybe you could tape a week?s episodes each Monday morning with only 1 or 1 1/2 hours out of your day and we could enjoy your show on regular day to day bases. An interesting segment would be to taste the same grape variety, but from different countries, like Grenache Blanc from California and France as an example. Than we could get an idea as to how the taste profile of a grape changes with each growing climate and wine making style when we choose a wine. Great show, keep it going.

    Could be cool.

The eps. was linked up yesterday on WLTV- great stuff.

  • I’m down with the more than 5 minute format, especially if the additional minutes have some stuff outside of wine aka vaynermedia thoughts on news (only on Mondays I guess lol) and general stuff goin on in the wonderful life of garyvee, oh and a Mott’s Moment would be krunk.

QOTD – screw uniform…is it a one wine quick day, is it a triple brown bag special, or do we have a legit guest??? at any rate, variety is the spice of life and wltv should bring the thunder in a variety of formats (couch fridays?) and lengths. If you have 4 hours for Angry Birds, you have 20 min to change the wine world ya dig

  • Cubatobaco (Ray)

    Damn, I’m late!

    Time to watch…

  • Anonymous

I like the short versions. I’m able to get the goods on the wine right away.

  • Sticks and stones may break my bones but Sparking wines excite me. I like it, like it, come on. 😉

Like how you think Jensen. 😀

  • Anonymous

If the one wine sucks, or blows, then your energy plummets and you’d have to send Mott down stairs to get another bottle or two.

  • you forgot GTH disqus. 😉

    QOTD:

    Dear Gary,

I am in favor of 3 wine shows to compare them. Yesterday’s episode with a theme (value) and 3 wines, 17 mins is IDEAL for me. 5 minutes is too short. I LOOK FORWARD TO WLTV all day. Please dont cut it short.

    and BROWN BAG please…..

  • Awe…left you with mehlancholy?

  • I do you think chinced everyone today 😉

Maybe do the one wine some time, with false “you, with a little bit of me…..” and then just keep rolling with a little after party show.

Head to head match up – do an NCAA wine tourney for March.

—>> and come on, where’s Nikolai Volkoff and the action figurines

  • Randall

What? The KMurph comment? Guilty! 😀
btw In case you missed it in our previous chat…

“NWIDan… In all seriousness, start with WLTV episodes #327, #519, #537, #815, #899, #911, and #912. I no longer drink “booze”, so I have no interest in the cognac, rum, vodka, te-kill-ya, etc episodes… but they’re out there, amigo. Cheers, and good hunting…”

And I think all you guys have to do is Completely uninstall Firefox and re install it for your Disgust issues to vanish like the finish of a cheap pinot grigio…

  • Anonymous

Yeah! more KMurph! And Ian! And the cheese guy with the awesome beard!

  • You love it when we push. Don’t lie. 😉
