    Great show Gary!

QOTD: 2008 Sutter Home Sauvignon Blanc.

  • Anonymous

Hi Gary, I’ve been watching for years but have only commented a couple times.

QOTD: I’ll be drinking a NZ sauvignon blanc tonight with my boyfriend called Dog Point. We actually visited the winery on a trip to NZ about 2 years ago – I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on DP.

  • Leatherpalate

GV I thought last weeks show was great- it is what it is I reckon.
Today was Amy’s birthday we went to a local brew pub with the boy and drank some fresh beerssss. Good times. Keep on keeping on..

    Awesome stuff. Italia!

    Awesome stuff. Italia!

  • Gary, love all the air time given to under-appreciated varietals. White Italian wine in general and Greco in particular get nowhere near the love they deserve.

QOTD: Taking some inspiration from yesterday’s show and popping an Aglianico tonight, obligatory rose and Champagne be damned!

    ERog,

Tablas Creek. Good call in every respect.

  • Great show, Gary! Glad to see that Thunder back! Sorry we gave you such a hard time for being rushed. Greco sounds really interesting; I’ll definitely have to give it a try next time I can find it.

I’m with fat chef below, is there any way to get the wrist band you have in this show? I just received the statue of liberty version, but it would be cool to make a little collection of ’em.

QOTD: My girlfriend and I celebrated yesterday instead of today. We had The Little Penguin Pinot Grigio. Wasn’t super exciting, a bit like H20 actually, but it might have been too cold. It was refreshing to say the least.

  • i liked 984 😉

  • Adam O.

Good show…nice job shouting out the Cali dream boat…lol. Going out tomorrow to find this varietal. Let us know if your going to be in South Beach next week…

I’m late and they already sold out. Sounds like I’ll have to find some of that Grecco d what?

50th Valentine Day with my wife. A bottle of Veuve Cliquot.

QOTD: Drinking a bottle right now of ’01 murphy-goode cab from alexander valley. Easy drinker and good value. Shockingly decent for a little under $20. Drinking as a precursor to my valentine’s day date.

  • Alexandre-CF

Oh yes, the thunder is back to the show!!!!!!!!!
    Awesome

QOTD: 08 Foradori MYRTO, with my girlfriend. Foradori rocks big time.

  • DaveAll

    Good handling of last show!
QotD: Viognier 2007 then King’s Speech at theater. was a great night. With my wife, best friend, soul mate and best person in my life.

  • t4drman

maybe some shows and wines deserve to be rushed. no hard feelings here. sipping a new tensley tierra alta syrah. a bit heavy for this show but i will seek out the greco di tufo just on your account. keep bringin’ it. but show 1k is not the goal, only the beginning.

  • QOTD: Cava and then Malbec. P.S. I liked show 984. It was a nice insight into the real world of WL. Don’t let the bastards drag you down! Your still the man GV. Cheers!

QOTD: Mumm Napa Sparkler. Pretty darn good for 16-17 bones. Had it with hubby of nearly 33 years. 🙂 Celebrated on Sunday along with birthday dinner for brother. Also had an Aussie Riesling-McWilliams(not the reserve) very petro-smelling and bicycle tire odor, a little too light-bodied for me, though paired fairly well with the pork loin.

  • I’m sad on Valentine’s Day because I miss Sir Vaynerchuck lol

  • Todd

I need to try this varietal!

QOTD: Went solo style, and drank a 1994 Jarvis Cabernet Sauvignon, it made me feel not so alone. 🙂

  • QOTD – wife is traveling for work and therefore I am having a glass of Rosenblum Viognier that I had open. The viognier is a little disappointing and based on the show, I wish I had a Greco Di Tufo. I don’t think I have ever had one before, but will be going right out and getting one. Sounds right up my palate…

    Happy V-Day

  • Curls_CDN

    Welcome back Gary… great show!

QOTD: Niagara Gewurztraminer from a boutique producer here with take out sushi… Yum!

  • Was there for the release party two Saturdays ago. What a fun time with great wines!

QOTD: I’m single and chilling at home. I did a little tasting this weekend in Paso Robles and I’m thinking about crack-a-lacking a bottle of Grenache I bought at Barrel 27, but who knows, I might slap open a dirt cheap cab.

That was a GREAT show!!! It is EVERYTHING I watch wltv for. You were funny but extremely informative. Thank you very, very much!!!

I’ve always thought that when you don’t have a guest on with you you’re most effective in that 12-15 minute range.

If you get a chance I’d love to see you do a show on Saxum’s wines out of Paso. Obviously they’re causing a buzz.

I’ve seen how busy you’ve been (well I’ve seen a part) and I have to say that although the show was fantastic you look kind of tired and like you’re maybe getting sick. Please take of yourself my dude.

    Yours,

    B.S.

  • Grill Factor

Thunder never went away I reckon.

QOTD: 3 bottles of grenache from Australia and some dark chocolate

  • amen. 🙂

  • David M Roberts

Whateva! Free content is appreciated, and you never know ’til you try – it’s what makes the show fresh. No apologies.

QOTD: Terra Valentine, of course! Great cab for the price, and apropos for the holiday.
Drank it with my wife while watching the BBC version of Top Gear. Yeah, I am a real romantic… Ah well, at least I got the wine right.

  • Is that the name? I love Chenin Blanc.

  • David M Roberts

Yes! Any fan of WLTV has a place in his/her heart for brave, snooty Sir Gary.

  • Globex

great episode buddy, made me thirsty to want both of these wines. Thanks for introducing them to me, I don’t think I’ve had either one before… will need to change that!

QOTD: 2006 Domaine La Roquete Chateauneuf du Pape, with the wife… well kinda. She’s pregnant so I’m drinking for two right now. We just sat down to watch a movie (after first watching WLTV via the Apple TV of course!) after a nice dinner out… cajon crawfish & shrimp, deliciousness!!!

  • <3 🙂

  • You can share with me 😛

  • At your age that’s 11pm. ;P ( at mine…10:30 😀 )

The Russian River Valley Reserve is fantastic!

Good episode and learned another varietal to try. Don’t get much better than that.

QOTD – Had a Gewurztraminer from a winery in Fredricksburg Texas. The nose was very intense but the wine was not as intense. Not a bad wine, (I have found very few of those) but will not purchase another bottle.

  • Anonymous

Great show, thanks for the info. Definitely a varietal that I have not had before, but will absolutely try. I haven’t found too many white wines that live up to what I’m looking for in a wine. Something with some backbone.
QOTD 2006 Hogue Genesis was on the menu tonight. I made dinner and started off with some cheese, dates, nuts, and raspberries. My wife is pregnant so I had to drink the whole bottle myself. It gets rough sometimes, but I’ll hold up my end of the bargain and not waste wine.

By the way, thanks for the longer show. It is a much better format!

Bringing the thunder back! Great show Gary! have never tried this varietal but will now. I drank a 2007 Ramey Claret and Pipert Heidsick NV Champagne with the girlfriend. You really are in tune with your Vayniacs thanks for listening. Keep the passion!!

  • Randall

Colin? With a slight lisp? Portrayed the king recently? Bueller? Bueller?
    😀

  • Randall

    Tooth?

Hey hey hey! Wine Library TV is BACK on Media Fly (via Roku) complete with the proper credited logo and even featured in both the “Recent Show” and “Food & Drink” categories! This makes me happy!! Now I don’t have to burn my eye balls so bad by sitting and watching on the computer. Big man, Gary for acknowledging the comments on the previous show. I think I might have been caught up in the wave a little because I did learn about the way wine buying decisions are made at your respected establishment an probably many others.
This show has me wanting to go find ou about what Grecdi di Tifo is all about. Even though it’s winter I stll drink mostly white wine. Thanks for what you do.

  • but you don’t like cabs. 🙂

QOTD: Had some dessert with my wife after the kids went to bed — pastries from Mike’s Pastries in Boston’s North End and Warre’s 2000 LBV Port.

  • Anonymous

No wine for Mr. single here tonight. Did have a really nice Grayson Cab 2009 last night tho- tasty stuff.

  • Another interesting varietal that I had never heard of. Thanks. GV.
QOTD: Chateauneuf du Pape 07.. just me and Dr House (the one on TV). Love these wines.

  • Oh my goodness.. I miss Mike’s Pastries!! Are the lines still out the door? What a great Valentine’s Day evening… Italian meal in the North End followed by something sweet at Mike’s.

  • QOTD: Not doing Valentines until Saturday with my girlfriend but the wine is already chosen. Condes De Albarei Albarino. I have never tried this specific Albarino but I have my hopes up for it.

Sometimes . . . I work downtown, so at 2:30 this afternoon, when I walked over, business was steady, but I only waited a couple minutes. Last time I was there on a Saturday night — it was a madhouse. But always worth it.

    Gary,
I am going against the masses to let you know that I was not offended by episode 984. As a wine guy myself, it is nice to see how you go about tasting wines on an everyday level since I go through the same drill myself. Nothing wrong with that, and I learned something. This was also a great show and it is nice to learn a little something about a varietal that I have not researched myself. I am looking forward to giving a few of these a try. Sorry to inform you but I believe that no girl will agree with you the Sanchez is better looking then Brady…. And I Hate Brady! Keep up the good work Dude, you are an inspiration to us up and coming wine bloggers.
