And probabaly also Castel 1996 (Israel) Cab/Merlot – best kept secret (or not anymore…)

Start with a Washington Crossing apple wine in honor of our American heritage; then give a choice of a Washington Crossing viognier or a Gravity Hills zinfandel for those preferring a red.

Hey Gary – happy Thanksgiving! I’m watching this while making stuffing for Thankgiving dinner. I’m bringing the stuffing and the wines to dinner. Most of the wines are stuff I need to uncork before they get to be too old.

    2003 J. Lohr Riverstone Chardonnay
2002 BV Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
    2002 Alex Sotelo Zinfandel
    2003 Shenandoah Zingiovese
    2003 Shenandoah Sangiovese Reserve
    2001 Savannah-Channel Piere’s Ghost (zin-blend)

and a home made 2001 Zinfandel-Carignon blend from Paso Robles from a friend

I had a 2005 Ken Wright Cellars Oregon Pinot Noir with the meal on Thursday.
It was an outstanding effort – a bit young.
I also had a 2004 Mesh Eden Valley Riesling from Australia, which went quite nicely with the Turkey Soup the next day.

Cool that you were going bonkers on a Minervois. I have a 1999 Minervois that I pulled from my cellar for the long weekend. I have had this wine before and it blows me away!

Vayner- we had your 4 pack- the pinot was a huge hit. How many times can you twist the knife in my heart with the steelers loss references?

  • QOTD: Turkey Day happened already, but my wine picks for a varied group were a big success, especially the Vila Verde Vinho Verde.

QOTD: Well, this is past tense, but we started with a Garretson Winery Roussanne before dinner. With the turkey and fixings, we had a 2001 Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf-du-Pape (which was outstanding, albeit a little young).

Have had Yamhill Pinot and the Cline, as well as the Galland. QOTD-I think we had a Pinot. http://www.winelx.com PS-finally caught up to you John_J

lol you have, I saw you coming.

qotd: well last thanksgiving I brought a zweigelt, a valdiguie, and a kabinett riesling.

You were dead on Gary with the MD crabs, being a guy who's from Baltimore, I go with Rhone whites and rieslings w a touch of sweetness when having hard shell crabs w the spicy seasoning we use as well. When it's just the straight crab meat without the seasoning I like to use an aligote.

p.s. someone probably already mentioned this Gary, but Blanca was from street fighter 2 not mortal kombat. (which was better than mortal kombat anyway.)
