line of the day – ‘no one is going to roll up on you, cut your tongue with a switchblade and you’re gonna be happy about it. In this instance, I am.’

Crazy, walk around episode featuring the full cast of the Wine Library, AND a packet of Mott’s apple slices. Fun.

    Michal J. Fox…and for apples it’s “nasty”.

  • Enjoyed the impromptu Chicken and apples scene cause we got to see the office area.

QOTD: chicken = coq au vin
apples = my fiancée.. she loves everything apples

QOTD: I think of the rubber chicken the scientist had in the Bedlam Theatre’s production of The Burning Ones: Origin of the Flame. Apple reminds me of an excellent apple wine that I tasted at Woodland Hills vineyard/winery in Delano, MN.

  • Fun episode, I have some suggestions for episodes to come. These ideas came when watching this episode.

    1. Have a “behind the scenes of WL episode” (You may have done this because I’ve only been watching since april 2009) Maybe move to a different section of the back areas and try a wine, move to one place then try another wine.

    2. A “Get to know the staff” type episodes, where the guests on the show are staff members, see how they think the wines are and maybe get to know their story as to how they became part of WL.

    QOTD: Fried, Caramel

Pinot Grigio is a waste. Thank you for this episode.

    QOTD (I) = bock bock.

QOTD (II) = crispishness, and refreshingly.

Love seeing what else is happening at Wine Library! Especially a cameo from Vaynerchuck Senior – great hat!

Who buys all that chicken and just leaves it in the fridge??

  • QOTD:
Chicken – Raw chicken. Probably because I think of it a lot as a cooking ingredient, rather than think of it in terms of the final product.
Apples – “Back home”. Grew up in an orchard town.

This could be my favorite WLTV episode ever, love the “witch hunt” in the kitchen. Reminds me of every office I have ever worked in. Cool culture at the Wine Lib.

Waldorff Salad has Chicken & Apples in it, that what comes to mind…AMM

  • The chicken in the fridge reminds me of the raw chicken we used to feed our dogs. And apples make me think of Mr. Ed.

    HEY DIDIC!!

You’re an ignorant, racist douchebag…..do me a favor and send me an email (my email is available in the FORUM) so we can get together and discuss this personally. After I beat your stupid racist ass, I’ll be good enough to pour some Vodka on you to help sterilize the wounds.

Ah geez. Because threatening eViolence is so effective… What’re you going to do, use words on him? *sigh* Let it go bro. Your diatribe gives credence to someone’s ignorance. Take the high road and let people like that dig their own graves. Take a chill pill and enjoy Gary’s vibe. We’re here to enjoy the wine.

Gary, keep up the good work!

I’m always a few days behind since I can’t watch these episodes daily, but they collect on my iPod and in my e-mail and I know I can view them whenever I get the chance. I just wanted to say that I, too, best like your traditional episodes – just you and three bottles of wine and all your great and amusing insight. I do enjoy the occasional guest, but like this format as the mainstay.

Who is this Didic guy? What a pompous ass! Crawl back under your rock, please!

Anyone who has watched the show on a regular basis will see that Gary’s enthusiasm is genuine and unaffected. It’s why we watch.

Thank you Gary for spending the time 5 days a week to share with the rest of us.

QOTD: of a very memorable homemade meal after a day of apple-picking in Maryland…baked chicken and apples…sooooooooooooo gooooooooooood!!!!!

as far as the episode, i have to say I am SO GLAD you picked Falanghina to focus on. The first time I had it was in 2006 while I was studying abroad in Umbria, and we took a group trip down to la costa amalfitana. I had my first glass of Falanghina on Capri…and to this day it is one of my VERY FAVORITE white wines of all time, and definitely one of the tope italian whites I’ve yet had. Now when are you going to do an episode on Roero Arneia and Soave. Oh and probably my favorite white wine of all time was a Malvasia that I had in Ljubljana, that was indeed from Slovevia…honestly mind-blowing!!!

Recently drank a 2006(?) Sorrentino Falanghina Pompeiano, had a similar taste experience; a truly unique play of tropical fruit (banana/guava), floral, and minerality…would love to try a fresh ’08 Falanghina (preferably watching the sun set in Capri).

QOTD: Stuff an apple in a chicken, roast the bird, throw away the apple

GV – I like these shows when we are introduced to new wines. I have had several Italian whites like Greco due to your shows and I really liked them.

    QOTD1 – chicken – my wife’s chicken soup
QOTD2 – apples – apple pie (made by my wife, even better)

Gary – Thanks so much for introducing me to this grape. Found a bottle of Terradora di Paolo 2007 Falanghina at my local wine store and, I’ll be damned… Banana! Just a great, unique white. Like nothing I’ve ever had before.
