    Oh – thanks Jeff,
GV, I’ve infected many partners, employees, and patrons at our winery with your v-blog. We’re linking you up on our next newsletter (even though it wasn’t very complimentary to Virginia wines — you gotta get a more proper sampling).

That’s the Gary I love to watch. I could tell you were bummin’ yesterday and I felt bad for ya.

I really enjoy the CDP’s Gary and I’ll be on the look out for the Pegau Du Pape (I’m a bit of a Cali snob, so it’s hard for me to admit it, actually).

Gary, the rhetorical question “you, with a little bit of me, we are changing the wine world aren’t we?” is far more appropriate than your recent heteroclitic endeavors. First, by posing the rhetorical question, you are engaging the listener to reflect upon what the answer Must be. Since “You,” provide “only a little,” and the viewers supply the rest of the impetus for this new appreciation of wine, it is only fitting that you allow the “viewer” to provide their own unspoken answer. Your point is that we are changing the wine world; by forcing the viewers to contemplate this unavoidable affirmative conclusion, you allow them further opportunity for self-reflection on the way in which they, as individuals, contribute to the change. Thus, while the assertion is yours, the unspoken answer, now heavy with the weight of unique associations, lingers on the lips of the listeners. This way you give them the last word. Anyway, Perhaps you, with a little bit of me, can bring the rhetorical back?—Now doesn’t that seem like a good idea?

QOTD: I gave money to a prostitute who was down on her Luck….

Hey gary, great show, thanks for the CDP episode! Just wanted to comment on your reaction on the Guigal CDP. I tried it with a couple of my buddies and we all loved it. We agreed with W&S that it should be in the 90’s zone; we left it opened for about 5 hours b4 drinking it, maybe that delivers the difference?

Anyhow, keep up the great work and introduce more wines to us.

QOTD: Flu shot clinic volunteer…getting practice and honing those skills of prick and stick! It is that time! After getting past that nauseous feeling of needles and such…I can now calmly execute without hesitation. I have also mastered the skill of distracting/talking the patient’s ear off…that they pay no attention to the process!! piece of cake!

Way to bring the “A” game today. I’m going to pass on the 3 CdPs, but getting a show that is this entertaining and educational is worth the watch. Have not laughed in a while…so kudos to bringing the thunder!

Please tell me that you’ll be doing the top selling wines from the super tasting today (Wednesday). That episode last year had to of been one of the most useful episodes —> found the El Nido and the Casa Marin Sauv Blanc to be two of the better – if not BEST wines that I had this year in for their respective categories. Thanks for all you do.

QOTD: Spending a few hours with my bro while he’s in town – granted, he was installing my toilet, but I gave him lots of Canadian beer in return.

Great episode – the “sniffy sniff” on the Guigal actually made me laugh out loud. A classic!

This was a great episode. I’ve been getting into Rhone wines (both north and south) recently, and I honestly feel that Guigal’s efforts in the Southern Rhone wines are a mere shadow of his Northern Rhone products.

Love CDP–thanks for the show! There was a local tasting recently with some pretty high-end bottles, and some of them really nailed it. Awesome complexity and length with that delicious spicy bacon character that I love. Great stuff.

QOTD: Took off work early today to whip up a tasty lamb stew for my fiancee paired with a bottle of the ’04 Boudreaux Cabernet. I think the cab stole the spotlight, but it was still a great evening 🙂

    Keep it up!

For someone who enjoys “over earthy” wines alot I can under stand how the 2003 Guigal Chateauneuf Du Pape Rouge was given 95 points. Watching this episode with some friends they thought that you were crazy diss’ing this wine when someone else can give it such a high score.
For the likes of my friends who were watching this and are really keen to learn, can you next time if someone else scores highly and you don’t like it as much make mention of trusting your own pallet.
Back up your difference of opinion of a wine if it is very different to the “other wine officials” with TRUST YOUR OWN PALLET. Just because someone rated it highly doesn’t mean the average drinker will.

    Good honest episode.

QOTD: Opened my 2bdrm, 1 bath house to another family of three until they can find a place of their own. They recently moved to Hawai’i from the mainland.

I tell everyone I meet who drinks wine about your website…don’t know if they check you out or not, but I am still loving each episode. Continue dropping knowledge on me and saving me from wasting money on busts and seeking out new types of wines. I just got my hands on a 1993 Tokaji that I would never had considered before watching this show.

Domaine Pegau Du Pape Red, 2004. Saved in phone’s notepad and written down and stuck in wallet. Sounds delicious, can’t wait. Also, I was reminiscing just the other day about saying rad (I say stellar all the time and get lots of grief for it), thanks lots to Jeff!

QOTD: Couple friends just got engaged so I’m working on a surprise for them, looking forward to their reaction. Typically I also do anything requested of me: help aunt with computer troubles, work on grandma’s car, build deck on mum’s house, anything for friends and family.

CNdP is quite expensive here. Less expensive similar wines are Gigondas and Vacqueyras

QOTD: Nicest thing I’ve done lately? I’ve planned to house a friend when he first comes into town, for as long as he needs in my apartment, bought things for when he makes his move, plan to show him the city and take a trip with him up north to wine country when he gets here… and will try to get him a job at my workplace and drive him around to look for a car when he moves here as well. BUT, for a friend, I’m so happy to do it that it almost feels selfish.

I’ve been kinda avoiding Chateauneuf for years, ever since it seemed to be THE ONLY good wine in many people’s books – something guaranteed to send me looking for something else. Appreciate the episode, though, ’cause it reminds me that that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s NOT good! (Also helps me to see into the future – this Saturday night, a bottle of CdP in front of me.)

QOTD: Nicest thing I’ve done lately? Why, recommend WLTV to fellow wine lovers I meet! (It’s being nice to them, btw, but it’s cool that it’s being nice to you too, Gary.)

    QOTD:
Gary, as your sister I too work in an elementary school. I few years ago I found myself often frustrated with some students. One evening I decided that I was the problem, the solution was not changing students but the change had to come from within. Since then I make an effort to be present for each child, acknowledging they may not have the benefits we had growing up…a mother and father how cared.

Good show.. Gary, continue doing the “120 seconds of something else” on youtube.. that was fun too. Now I know why you think ijustine (justine E) is one of the top video blogs.. DAMN!! One last comment.. London must have rubbed off on you.. now you are calling yourself a “chap”.. funny.. Oh yeah.. forgot.. just tried an “old world style” wine for the first time.. WOW.. that is different.. can’t say there was much “thunder” but it was a good learning experience.. also, it didn’t have time to breath so I’m sure it was a very very different taste.. I can now understand the poop, dirt, and all the other fun tastes in wine.. if you are tired of the JETS.. come on over to the winning side.. GO COLTS!! You have an open invitation to a COLTS game.. my treat.. Red Rover, Red Rover, Send Gary V on over….
