Great show Gary. I’m looking forward to opening a few 05’s later down the line.

QOTD: The biggest transformation I have seen is my wife once she began a relationship with Christ. Her spirit is completely different now, than when I first met her. It is utterly amazing. Hey, you asked.

  • I am having a great weekend, thanks! Up in Whistler with my wife and good friends enjoying the Cornucopia wine and food extravaganza! Wish all of you could be here too. We could share a bottle and some good conversation. If you are here then I’m the guy in the “Wine is Yummy!” t-shirt.

Biggest Transformation: My wife’s ability to overlook all of my shortcomings and help me be a better person.

I wonder how RP was scoring this wine?! He must have been looking into his crystal ball and anticipating the future!! Is this a common practice by wine critics when scoring wines (should not, in my opinion)!! By the way, I was visiting San Diego for a conference and passed by the folks at the WINE BANK (http://www.sdwinebank.com/), as it was near the convention center. Very nice guys indeed … We had good Rioja tastings and as I was checking out prices, the guys started using the “bones” currency…GV fans everywhere 🙂
    Cheers

A great show today…and for the QOTD: I would have to say that seeing myself change over the last 10-12 years has been a big, big change. Hope to see you in Napa….

Great ending message. After a year in S Korea, I learned about how good we Americans have it. Thanks for the reminder.
So that’s how you’re going to play it with the ’05 Bordeauxs? How about a prediction then?

  • Great show Gary. Like so many others I loved your closing thoughts. A shame about having to go with the BLEEP button though. You would think a group of adults getting together to share our love of wine and life could handle a passionate word or two from the heart. I vote that you keep the real word(s) in next time if that is where you are in the moment. I trust you to not be gratuitous. Too bad that doing so would cause you so much grief from a vocal few.

QOTD: My little girl and how my life has changed around her.

    P.S. F11 button? Classic!

Com’on G-Man, time to give up on the jets. Watch-n the Giants and Cowbowys sip’n a Sesti
Rosso Di Montielcino. You have to agree, L. T. was the greatest line backer of all times. No?

  • Would love to join you on your show… I have added you days ago on FB… waiting for you to accept…

If I can not make it to the USA why not use the ticket and come do your show here in Piedmonte, Italy. In the hills of Barolo or better yet in the Barolo Castle….which is next door for me….

Great show… very entertaining and informative.

  • Sean Cashen

Enjoyed the show. Nice advice at the end–we all need to realize how good we have it and how blessed we all are. You put it all in perspective–spot on GV.

  • Gary, you usually don’t respond to notes on here but for me at 60 it is unlikely that I would ever enjoy the 2005 you describe as I would be 90-100 before these wines mature and would never taste them at their best so would it be even worth spending the money on 2005 Bordeaux at all?
The most transforming event I have seen was my youngest son becoming an adult.
