    Awesome job Gar!
I’ve watched most of the 2nd year’s shows now & going back to the begginning to watch the 1st year. Just watched #6 and gotta ask… who was behind the camera? Erik?? Sounded like Igor with all the heavy breathing!!
Keep it up, the Vayner-nation needs you.

    Mott… link it up !

p.s. I’m grateful for my loving & understanding family, and greatful I can serve my country (USA)

Hell yeah Gary! Great show, all of my friends think I know so much about wine but its really just everything that you have taught me. Wine is such a complex world and I dont know how you ever learned as much as you do about it without having a teacher such as yourself. Keep it going for as long as you can!

  • Garryyyy, Happy 2nd Year Anni, I can’t believe I won !!! I am so totally psyched, I love it !! Can’t wait to see you at Taste Washington in Seattle and get your Thunderific opinion of my vino !!(ok, too many exclamation points) I can’t make it out on March 29th, it’s my wife’s birthday.

Great episode as always, especially liked the shout out to Allen Shoup.
I really hope that in the very near future you’ll be able to ship wines to Washington State ’cause I’m bummed out that I can’t order your 4 packs and taste along with the Vaynernation, not to mention getting killer ’05 Bordeaux futures deals.

STOTD: This past year has changed my life. For the first time since I’ve been involved with wine professionally (since’92) I’ve seen it from a whole new viewpoint.
I’ve always felt like all the wine professionals I’ve encountered (with few exceptions) have taken themselves way to seriously and it started infecting my attitude as well. And now I’ve got a new outlook that really helps me to view wines based on what I like and not what others tell me. When I’m starting to slip back into old habits I remind myself that I like Pepperoni pizza and not Hawaiian, so why would I go along with someone else’s opinion of a wine when I honestly don’t care for it ? Thanks for all your insight and please hang in there for at least one more year !! Cheers ~ Max

  • Happy anniversary GV.

SOTD: for the last 4 years I spent some considerable amount of time, effort and money to educate myself in the wine trade wile doing my regular job (graphic design). This year is the turning point. I’ll be going for the change of harts that I’ve longed for quite a while. As a passionate for wine diversity, not assimilation, I hope that i’ll be able to do my part in “changing the wine world”.

Congrats on the 2 year anniversary. Love the show and hopefully you will keep it going for a long time coming. Cheers.

  • Gary!

Awesome show! Congratulations on two years. I can’t believe that I may have won an Apple TV! I emailed Matt as soon as I heard you making fun of my name choice. Sorry for my lack of creativity, but I was too excited to talk about spreading the thunder. Anyway, next time, for this member of the CKC, just give away 4 Apple TV’s. Thanks again for all of your dedication to the show, and thanks for keeping it going. Here’s to another thunderous year!

  • I’m fairly new to wine. Just started getting into it a couple of years ago. I feel like I’m finally getting the basics of it. I was pleasantly surprised to find such passion in wine among so many people. It’s like a lot of other hobbies. When you first start you think it’s much smaller than it actually is. Then you find out there’s stores and magazines and contests and neighbors…AND sometimes even awesome dudes making history on the internet.

  • I have a proclamation. I am a recent culinary school graduate with a BPS in Culinary Management and am looking for a job in the wine business. I live in Chicago on the far north side. If anybody has any suggestions/opportunities, I would greatly appreciate it.

Second, Thanks for keeping up the good work, Gary. We all really appreciate it. Happy birthday.

  • Scott – Boston

Thank You! (aren’t you sick of people saying that to you yet?)
Well, count me as one of the millions.

And to a one in a million : Happy Birthday.

(btw, People will look back someday and see that the Patriots this year were still one of the greatest football teams of all time. Let’s think back at all of the mediocre teams that actually won the Super Bowl. hmmm…)

    randy MOSS, Link it up!

Again, Happy Birthday and many many more,
    Scott – Boston

  • Ben Janssen South Australia

    G’day mate.

Big shout out from Australia down under.
Have watched every 412 shows and enjoyed everyone of them.
It was a relief when finally I came across someone out there who calls it as he sees it. I thought I was the only one who would say a wine smelt like dish washing powder, burnt rubber and peaches etc etc.
A big laugh on Episode 403 when Jen Piper used the comment “Grabs my tongue and makes it its bitch” Is that a Garry comment off air ?

Keep up all the great work and bringing the thunder!

    Congrats to all the winners!

    Best wishes and much love,

  • Happy 2nd Birthday WLTV! And, thank you so much for continuing to do this, GV! As I said a long time ago, I don’t want to see the show stop any time soon, but even if you stopped tomorrow, my thanks for what you’ve done would vastly outweigh my disappointment. I haven’t been commenting much at all lately. Life’s gotten more hectic than I know how to handle (honestly, GV, I don’t know how you do it), but I’m still here and still lovin’ it. I’m so glad I found the show when I did. I was just getting interested in wine, and the market was flooded with all the establishment wine NO-ledge. It looked as if I was destined for snobbery, because the more I learned, the more I picked up the disposition of the “Parker” crowd I was learning from. But today I am somebody who enjoys experimenting with my palate in MANY ways, and you have played a big role in teaching me how to learn to experience everything I eat and drink more fully. There is also a small but enthusiastic group of friends out here in Elko, NV, that never would have learned to enjoy each other’s company over a glass of wine if it were not for your show. Thanks again buddy. Maybe I’ll see you again sometime.

P.S. How’s the Thundercat collection coming?

GV – YOU ARE THE MAN! I am learning so much from you – and breaking in my PAL to something new almost every day. Thanks for the inspiration – and thank God I still have a lot of catching up to do with previous episodes. Keep ’em coming – don’t let the party end too soon. Remember, when the party ran down, Jesus’ first miracle was to turn water into WINE. (Obviously he wanted to keep things going too…)

Thanks again for 2 great years.

A very big happy anniversary/birthday to WLTV. You’ve given me not only the tools and knowledge to make me a better, more appreciative wine drinker, but also the motivation to keep on working at it. All that, and the show’s got great entertainment value as well. Congratulations to Gary, Mott, and everyone else involved, and also to that guy who managed to hold up the chalkboard through all the last few minutes of the show today.

The thing I love about WLTV is how it strips away the pretentious bull *#@$
that makes so many people afraid of wine. It’s fermented grape juice folks!
Yet it’s the worlds greatest beverage. I hope this show continues to turn people of my generation (21-28) on to wine and get them curious and exited about it.
Thanks Gary! This is truly a public service.

2 years of WLTV! AWESOME!!! Thanks for all you do, GV. I know that I say that quite frequently, but you are the reason that I am now hosting my own wine tasting with friends and spreading the thunder!

SOTD: Your time is greatly appreciated. I hope to see you on March 29th.
