Gary, I can’t believe you didn’t make a videogame reference with the Zork! I am disappointed.

I have used a Zork with a wine called Plungerhead (I think), and liked it! I didn’t think of it at the time (was in a restaurant) but would like to have seen you replug one of the bottles. It looks like it’s ideal for that… much better than a cork.

I like the ease of use. Can’t say I’ve actually seen one in the store.

    Great Show!!!

Feels good to watch WLTV again….1st day with power restored after Hurricane Ike.

QOTD: Zork seems like a good concept especially for those wines in the under $15 range. I have never actually seen them before, but definitely cool stuff.

I like the Zork. Easy to open. QOTD: I had a Zork-type cork on a bottle of sherry.

I like these new trends in the wine world. I think the zork may be a little more wasteful than the screw top, but better than cork (for sure).

QOTD: Haven’t bought any wines with it yet, but I’m sure I will in the near future (these wines fall in my price range).

  • HEY GV

For the price, this is a great pizza wine here at the Witherspoon household. 9 bones, goes great with a large veggie pizza from Angelos.

    Cheers my friend.

Zoinks! Yea, we’ve had zorks in Ohio for about 3 years now, and did first see them on the Red Knot, whose sourcing of fruit has varied from year to year. In that time, we’ve had some decent wines from McLaren Vale, and Langmeil, among other locales. Though it’s not exactly my cup of tea, the simply, entry level wines made by Don Sebastiani and Sons are what they are, and that is dependable, and responsibly made. The zork will work for you in a time you find yourself without a wine opener, and the soft rubber closure is secure enough.

  • Robert Howells

Penny’s Hill Red Dot Shiraz has been zorked for quite a long time and it seems to be a pretty good closure. I still prefer cork over the alternatives so far.

ZORK-once a fan, very soon NOT a fan. I bought 24 bottles of the same wine in a bordeaux bottle. Out of those 24, a couple I had to use plyers to pull the zork out, and on a couple the top ripped out which I had to use a corkscrew to pull the bottom out. Therefore, I have to say, the zork is my least favorite closure yet. Love Stelvin. Would favor a wine with Stelvin over cork and has made my buying decision quite a few times.

  • Zork – meh. I can figure out a cork, or a stelvin. Both have their place, but I just can’t see the point of a Zork.

Gary! Coming up on game time here on the West Coast! Went to school down in S.D. but am devoted Niner fan (we got our win yesterday!!!!), so I’m gonna be rootin’ for the Jets tonight. Just for you!
QOTD: Never had a wine that had been Zork’d. I’ve seen them at a wine tasting event (either ZAP or Rhone Rangers). Looked like a pretty good idea. I like the fact that you would never be in need of a cork-screw and you can easily re-zork your partial bottles. You can say the same for the Stelvin screw cap but I’ve heard from some winemakers that there have been issues with the screw-cap leaking (stacking the cases too high can potentially compromise the seal, so the Zork may get a foothold.

    Wazzup!

I’ve never had a wine with a Zork ‘cork’, though it seems to me like the kinda thing you use when in a hurry…Personally, I’m a traditionalist when it comes to wine. I Like it slow…I like to take my time when drinking wine, so I love opening and decanting, or waiting for my wine to open up if need be…

  • Cork the Zork! Great and informative show.

QOTD: No, never had one but will try it. It looked like fun.

    Go Jets! Beat the Bolts!

  • QOTD: I’ve never zorked before, but it looks interesting and rather convenient. I watched the “How to Zork” video on the website, which was pretty hip. I couldn’t see the sort of pull cord detail from your video, so it was quite enlightening.

QOTD I would have to say that I am a fan even though I havent had one of the wines. I’ll wait to cellar to see how they hold up though.

I am a old school cork kid, I am not so into the twist top though, but I have have Red Knot’s 2006 C.S. I really like it, thought it was awesome, really cool feature.

    Good Show Gary!

The Zork looks interesting and easy to use. Time will tell. Truthfully, I’ve had corks that misbehave, also. (broke in half, split, etc.)

  • Cool! Never seen a Zork, but looks interesting. I guess we will have to wait and see how successful they become.

I have tried the Zork. liked it> it’s always fun to switch things up a bit. I actually tried it with the Red Knot Cab while I was in Maui. I really enjoyed it, though that might have to do with the fact that i let it breath, or maybe because i was having phone sex with my girlfriend.

  • Never used the Zork. I must say it looks easy but I’m still a cork guy. I’m skeptical as to how the wines will age. Only time will tell.
