Gary and Lizzy, CONGRATULATIONS on the Fantastic News!! I know you will be great parents, but the number 1 piece of advice is to teach them R-E-S-P-E-C-T. It’s disappointing at times to see the lack of VALUES, some people have today, but I’m certain your children won’t fall in that category.

Too bad the Terradalgo wine wasn’t available when you had the Gingerbread House Tasting. At least the “rabbit” wine made an appearance for the “pregnant” episode.

5/31 – Wow… Congratulations. My Son was born on 5/21 last year. That is HUGE. I wish you and Lizzy all the best. Children bring you such happiness. I am very happy for you both.

QOTD – My one piece of advice for a new parent is to enjoy life. Kids can present you with a myriad of different stresses. Take time to enjoy your kids. They are only kids once. Show them everything. Take them to the zoo, the aquarium, the movies, the theatre, etc. They will hold onto those memories and you will get to witness the world through their eyes. I highly reccomend you watch “The Last Lecture” by Randy Pausch (http://cellarmuse.blogspot.com/2008/08/last-lecture.html) – A MUST SEE

Gary, savor every moment – even the tough ones. They all go by so quickly. Congratulations!

Many times I thought this announcement was coming.

My one piece of advice is to keep your marriage a priority while raising your child. It will take more work than ever before. Kids learn a great deal by how their parents relate to one another. It is the first model for relationships that they see.

I have 2 adopted kids 2 and 3.5 and have never been more fulfilled. I’m exhausted, but fulfilled. I am a stay at home dad while trying to keep my own business afloat.

All the best. From what I’ve seen, you will be a great dad.

My advice as a parent of 3 great kids…. Be consistent and do what you say you will do. That applies to everything from how you discipline to how your family has fun. And secondly, don’t count to three, it just gives them 2 seconds longer to deliberately disobey you 🙂

Congrats to you and Liz, Gary! Hope Vay-ner-chuk Jr. can read this when he (or she!) is older. We all hope the little one is as successful and passionate a wine nut as his dad.

I spoke to some of the wine library staff today about an order I have in place- I’m planning a blind tasting of pure unblended varietals to expand (and my friends’) palettes. Had a blast picking out wines on the wine library website. The staff was friendly and helpful, too. Can’t wait!
