Good old GV coming through like a trooper from his own kitchen. Short episode but fun to see what’s in the fridge and what he’s drinking at home. Shocking to find out that in two days he’d only drunk less than half a bottle, and if this is what he is drinking at home why spit it out? Puzzling

Dear Andy and Edie from MT-: You should probably never visit our home… 😉

  • DavidL

I need to open up to more French wine, I haven’t really had a whole lot of experience with the Bordeaux or any wine from France for that matter.

QOTD: I just popped a bottle of 2005 Silvertop Shiraz. Drinking on a budget. $6.50 a bottle. =)

  • Jeff R

Nice seeing a personal side, Gary. Darn, that is a lot of eggs. What do you do with all of them?

To a poster above, yes our cupbords remain closed if not in use. An obsession, I don’t know. It’s just the way we roll.

Cap’N Crunch cereal – Is that because the person who came up with the product owns C.G. D’Aire winery?

QTD – No wine currently open. Had water with dinner and the wife had ice tea. Last bottle open was a 2003 Equis from Spain (Eric Solomon import) – wife didn’t care for it. I thought it was fair.

  • Jay

QOTD: The 2005 Green Lion Cab (outrageous label!) is open on my counter at present.

By the by, after watching yesterday’s bacon episode I was startled this afternoon to see NBC (I think – I was at the gym) do an entire news piece devoted to the rise in bacon sales (10% up in the past year they claim), bacon bars (who knew?!?!?) and Americans’ general adoration of bacon. You pegged yet another trend! 😉

  • QOTD: I’ve got an opened bottle of 2007 Domaine Servin Chablis Premier Cuvee Les Pargues – purchased at the WL last weekend in fact. Here are my notes:
Opened a bottled at room temperature, and put it into the fridge after pouring my first glass. It has an interesting nose – apples, minerals, and even some petrol. Everytime I drink chablis I am absolutely blown away by the nose – really enjoyable. The inital attack features granny smith apples, lots of granny smith apples. The apples morph into various tropical fruits; papaya, passion fruit, and some pineapple. The tropical fruts are light though – not over powering at all. Finish is quite nice – nice acidity on the backend. Decent QPR for a Chablis in my opinion.

STEMLESS! I hate you so much right now. Okay, we are back together, but don’t do that to me again. That fridge is nice, but the contents are a little pitiful. Was that Dom in the back? I am drinking an assortment of Bourbons and AZStronghold wine. By the way, who takes 3 days to drink a 750ml bottle of wine. Still love ya. Take us on a tour next time.

Like the stemless glass, always underated in my opinion.

QOTD: 2007 Sineann Old Vine Zinfandel is open since it’ll be a long weekend without wine in the picture while visiting family.

    Fun show.

MY question of the day: Did you just cork the wine over the 3 days, or did you use gas or “the pump” in an effort to preserve it?

YOUR Question of the day: Sitting on my dining room table is a bottle of a 1992 Staglin Cabernet…with about a half a glass left in it. Popped it on Tuesday. Will finish it off tonight.

  • troutmonster

Don’t we all keep a bottle of Dom chilled in the back corner of the fridge, just in case we get the urge? haha

Anyways, QOTD…Louis Jadot Bourgogne 2006. Entry level burgundy. I’ve long been a Bordeaux guy, and I’m trying to expand the pal. I like the format in the Vaynerchuk home, give us some more.

QOTD: None! My wine never lasts that long in an open bottle.

QOTD: Don Miguel Gascon Mendoza Malbec – picked it up for pizza on Monday night, have about a glass left. Won’t knock your socks off , but OK for $10

    QOTD … 2002 Ehlers Estate Merlot … and it’s rocking 😀

  • Braden G

QOTD – The bottle I just opened may stay open for more than a few days – a 2006 Durif called 96 Points (nothing related to a score at all). Not too often you get a red with a Vinho Verde like frizzante. Terrible stuff.

Love the short Vaynerquickie episodes. Keep up the great work man.

QOTD: On my counter is (an empty) bottle of Zestos Vinos De Madrid. Very nice bottle from Spain. I think it was great value at $7.99. 50%- Tempranillo and 50% Garnacha. Good with light foods: pasta, pizza, chicken.

That was a cool one G-diddy. Being a real estate broker, I love houses, and being a cook, I adore kitchens!

HP Sauce and Sierra Nevada FTW!

QOTD Had a magnum of woot cellers polyphemus open until last night, where we killed it…Tonight I’m going to crack a bottle of either K vinters Syrah, or Kim Crawford Sav. Blanc, depending on what we decide to eat.

I’m thinking tamales and they syrah though.

  • Alaska1

QOTD: I have a bottle that I tasted blind with a friend of mine. I was very much into it when I tried it, I did pick it as a Zinfandel (my fav) and tried to guess the area and price point. I was very very very wrong.

TBD California Zin 06′ $8-$10. I was blown away buy how good it was.

If I had ever seen it at the store I would have said now way! That is why I like to drink blind. It will change your preconceptions of wines.

  • Gary: First, I love the short eps you shoot outside of your normal element. The ones you take in hotels / your home always feel personal and are fun.

QOTD: Nothing currently. Working my way out of a nasty cold. If I feel good enough tomorrow I’m going to open a nice bottle of Baron Philippe Pinot. Well, I say nice, I’ve never had it before. 😉
