line of the day – ‘ I would like to have pig snout and ears with this wine’

Love Gary in this episode; he rolled with the negative feedback of the ‘College humor’ episode beautifully. As he says, you have to try different things, some will work, some won’t. Glad to see that he isn’t going to dwell on it at all. Back to his incisive, funny, super ‘on point’ self. Picking the ‘Suxx’ wine a masterstroke.

  • Good Show. Love the Chewbacca. I’m not afraid of chewing my wines. I actually tend to like it. I’m still yet to try a Molly Dooker, but damn would I like to. They’re just a little out of my price range at the moment.

p.s. the news on the TV in the background was distracting. Keep up the good work.

Liked this one. Esp. the Heidi Klum.

Try an LA tweetup if you have time on the next trip.

Looking forward to the 4/6 unveiling…

    Really interesting wines. Good show.
The Violinist is something I am definitely going to try.
Did anyone at the wine store(John&Petes) recognize you?

    much better than yesterday gv.

my comment is the following; i cannot wait to email you during the draft when the jets decide to use their first pick for a CB. hopefully that will stop all the “oh my god, lito sheppard is amazing” comments from you.

seriously, i want the best for the 2nd best green team in the nfl, but lito ain’t what he used to be.

  • I duno what everyone’s whining about, yesterday’s episode was FUNNY. Seriously, you guys are making Gary think it bombed? Fools. I hope he still does the odd ones every now and then, it keeps things FRESH. Just like your PALLET!

    My 2 cents.

Now I think I’m going to go and see if I can grab a bottle of SUXX.

  • Always have wondered what you do the leftovers from WLTV eps. Do you drink them or pour them? Just curious as that’s a lot of waste (and should be sacreligious) if they go down the drain.

Great show. I love the hotel room format. I felt like I was knocked out in the middle, I was really into the show and then all of a sudden I didn’t know where I was 🙂

You definitely don’t have to apologize for anything, not everyone can be pleased all the time. I hope not too many of the CH fans thought people were being snobby, not that it matters, but I think that the normal WLTV fans just felt like the CH guys weren’t even bothering to try yesterday.

Love the show. Seriously keep it up, the content rocks!

Awesome Awesome Awesome Great Show Gary.
I love how you turned a Suck into a Suxx.
Looking forward to seeing you in San Diego April 11th

YO my man..WLTV is BACK to normal..thank you and I am sorry about my comment on yesterdays episode but I have to be true to you and all the other vayniacs, thats how we roll dog!! That said..thanks for the past 650 episodes!

P.S. I liked your little comment on Dales blog…made me laugh!!

  • Tchilds

Great episode. Like the resourceful, on-the-road episodes and it was interesting to see what you’d pikc out in a civilian wine shop. Didn’t care for the college humor episode, but I don’t blame you, GV- just seemed like those dudes, while funny, weren’t really *interested* in the concept.

  • Joel

Great show Gary. I just started watching when you had Kevin Rose on and am really enjoying it.

ThanXX Gary! I’m a big time lurker and finally leaving a comment (QOTD). After the previous episode, Big Thanks for bringing back the energy I love about your show! I was laughing my eyes wet at around 15 mins. What happened, too many things going on while trying to finish a sentence?! See ya!

  • Boris

    Hey Gary,

I’m 18 and from Hong Kong where I’m allowed to drink legally, but I’m in college in the U.S. where as you know, I’m not allowed.
Been watching this show since freshman year begun and your energy just gives me the motivation to finish courseweek. It really is great, keep it up!

Even though I haven’t had any wines before, I’m looking forward to trying some wine this summer when I’m back in Hong Kong, seeing if I pick up any of the things you often talk about- the “Oak Monster”, tannins, strawberries, etc. Very excited about that!

Anyways, just want to say, keep bringing the thunder!

  • Alright GV, since you didn’t have a question of the day you get a grab bag of random comments:

    – I’d like the next on-location show to be a wine bar. How do you roll at a wine bar? What makes for a good wine bar or a bad one? I think its a good opportunity to educate.

    – I was in Florence a few weeks ago, and I need to bring to your attention a truly dynamite pairing: we had an awesome bottle of Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva and then a very interesting cheese plate – pecorino in three different ages. Everything else about the cheese was the same except the age. Dip the cheese in a little honey and you have one of the best pairings I’ve ever had.

    – Thanks for inspiring me to keep excited and hustle every single day

    Hey Gary,

    Good show !

QOTD: I think it s shame that the vayniacs expect so much from your shows. Amir was right in his comment, you tried something a little different and it didnt work out as you thought. you ve just posted your 650th episode, that is amazing ! The more quality you bring, the more the vayniacs expect from you. If I was going to post 650 shows, I don t think a single one would best as good as your “worst show”. You are the man Gary ! I ve learnt more about wine with WLTV than I have with books! (and I have tons o’ books).

More importantly, I ve learnt NOT to be a wine snob and make fun of people who don t know about it, or people that say things like “it tastes like alcohol” or “it tastes like grapes”. People like Jake and Amir have little or no experience of wine, I think it s great that you introduce them to it. It teaches us how we can get our “non-wine-geek” friends into it too !

    Kudos Gary, kudos !
