line of the day – ‘ I would like to have pig snout and ears with this wine’

Love Gary in this episode; he rolled with the negative feedback of the ‘College humor’ episode beautifully. As he says, you have to try different things, some will work, some won’t. Glad to see that he isn’t going to dwell on it at all. Back to his incisive, funny, super ‘on point’ self. Picking the ‘Suxx’ wine a masterstroke.

Excited to visit the WineLib in July, going to squeeze it in while waiting for connecting flights to Maine!

  • Something straight from the book of dz –

Do you know what I would say to you if I didn’t like you? Nothing.

The fact that the Vayneration is SO vocal and SO loud speaks to their passion for something they love. They CARE about the GV and WLTV.

The fact that you GET this GV, makes us all very very happy.

    Loved it. Great show.

Gary, I have been tempted several times to post but this is my first. Glad you liked the Suxx. My wine club did a Grateful Palate tasting and we all liked this wine quite a bit.. Also..I liked the bacon episode..but would have never thought to pair Conundrum though..like your style.

Gary, your Chewbacca and your Heidi both need work. Fun show. Having your TV on was freaking me out though. You kept changing color.

GV: nice show! Always wanted to leave a comment, now I am, woo hoo! thanks for the nudge. Hard to see the labels on the bottles tonight because of the TV glare; what were you watching? xoxo, Lulu

No need to tell me to drink white (or pink) wine. I’m just glad the prices aren’t the same as the big reds.

QOTD: I didn’t want to touch on ep. 649, but since you’re not asking a question I’ll just give a point of view on it. They’re funny, they’re young, they’re indifferent…all the things a CKC should be. However, what bugged me most is that I feel they came on to a show about wine and disrected the content. It’s like walking in to a funeral parlor wearing a grim-reaper costume. Ultimately, I feel they confused and distracted your loyal viewers and it bothered us a bit. It’s not very often we want the guest[s] to tone it down. I’m just glad it wasn’t my first episode. I never woulda got to know the real WLTV if it had been. In fairness, if times were different and and I was back in school, I’d be a big fan of theirs.

  • This WAS a good show. You took it on the chin for the last episode – peeps were too hard on you, IMHO. I triple-dog dare you to post this comment, Gary!

Best Road Show Yet!!! (well, only including flipcam shows taped somewhere other than in a vineyard in this grouping). My only complaint is that the hotel room TV kept cycling through different colored screens (I think), changing the white balance of the camera! No worries, just something to look for in the future 🙂 Yes, yesterday’s show was a bit off, but you’ve gotta try new things… right? We definitely appreciate your efforts, not matter the final product! Keep up the good work!

QOTD: (none given, so I’ll pose one for you!) I am a complete novice in terms of marketing, but I’ve noticed that WL.com seems to use a frenzy sort of tactic to sell items quickly when a ‘good deal’ arises. That is to tell consumers that a product won’t last long, or that a sale won’t last long (possibly even if you have tons of inventory). Whether you employ this tactic or not, my question is…. in your experience, does this tactic work better for online sales or for in-store sales???

    Nice episode Gary,

Any future road shows should include a guest off the street to taste wine with you. Very impromptu and could be really fun!

My first comment here. I have been a longtime lurker. I like the road format, but you gotta turn off the TV. You kept alternating between looking red, blue, white, etc. Keep up the good work!

  • ben from boston

lighting was a hotel room issue again, but really great format, love the from the road episodes.

    QOTD: what E dog said.

and congratulations, 650, that’s no joke especially considering the overall quality of the content.

  • Gretchen

the violinist is one of my favorites…i’m glad you likey!

I’ve been really enjoying some serious white wines lately. I was at the Lousi Dressner tasting 2 weeks ago and had some Loire valley Chenin Blancs that were stunning.

  • Mike Pos

Everyone watch the movie: Synecdoche, New York. Absolutely brilliant movie. Charlie Kaufman is a once in a lifetime talent. That means you too Vaynerchuk.

  • A fantastic return to form, Gary. I love seeing you in these flip cam videos. One man, three wines and nothing but the thunder is a great formula for success in my mind.

  • shawnandlu

Thank God! Gary is back without the sideshow. I really appreciate all of the effort that you put into this show. Also, I enjoyed that you gave the OZ wines a little love. I generally am an old world guy but once in a while I really do enjoy opening up a big fruit bomb. My hope is that wines never become homogenized where everyone makes stuff that all tastes the same.

One positive that you can take from yesterdays show is that the core item that really seamed to anger your loyal viewers is the impression that the two of them did not care what you were doing and really didn’t give a crap about the wine. Your fans have a great amount of passion about you and your wines. For that you can be thankful.

  • ben from boston

hate to be leaving so many comments last two days, but let me just say one last thing, the 1 on 1 format (just you and the vayniacs) really cant be beat, no matter the guest.

    Good showing.

My question for you is what is a “can’t miss” for Savannah, GA? Heading that way on Friday even though my mind is already there.

  • Jade from Portland

Good show today, GV. Nice, tight, and focused. The lighting was a bit distracting, but not too bad. Good rebound from yesterday.

  • Chilemily

Great on the road show today!! I am a newcomer to the show and have been watching for the past few weeks…and definitely will keep watching!

    BUT

You need to to do some more Chilean wine…I live in Chile and absolutely love the wine. I know you have done some shows in the past, but I think it’s time for a new one!!
