  • Thanks for the blind tasting episode…and 5 is my favorite number as well FWIW.

Also please don’t judge all Michigan wines by this crap that MSU somehow pumped out, who knows where they even get their grapes from…

QOTD: Always has to be your alma matter, right? If not they treated you wrong, therefore the Broncos of Western Michigan University have my eternaly loyalty even though they’re in a mid-major conference (MAC).

  • Gary,

Great show as always. I love the blind tastings! It’s awesome to see you go in with no preconceived notions of the wines.

QOTD: Indiana University. I live in Btown and love the college.

  • AWESOME! Worst wine in WLTV history, I’m so glad I saw this show within a day of its posting, I never thought I’d be so excited to hear about a bad wine… Sour patches with an anger twist, I’m lovin’ that.

QOTD: Northeastern University, because of the three colleges that I’ve personally attended (I bounce around) it was my favorite campus.

QOTD: Thanks for the setup Gary. I root for the University of Michigan – born there, raised there, and I go there! What do you think puts the ‘Blue’ in vinoBlue?

The best part is that you just thrashed the Michigan State wine. I can’t wait to see the reaction when I send my friends at State that clip. You just made my day.

    GO BLUE OR GO HOME!

  • Hey Gary, this is my very first time posting. I had to post because I wanted to see if you would answer my question on the next show. I’ve been watching your show for a couple of months and lovin’ it! I’ve even gone back and watched a hundred or so past episodes, and I intend to watch them all.

Question for you: I’m 18, so obviously I can’t buy any wine. I can’t wait till I turn 21 to explode into the wine arena. When I turn 21 though, I don’t want to go buying tons of bottles of wine, emptying my pocket. How can I sample tons of wins without going broke?

A psychologist watching the show….mmmm….maybe you’re her next subject matter Gary…lol

I always love the blind tasting format. My fine wine manager at work served me up a blind glass earlier…a New Zealand Montepulciano…no chance really.

Being English I am keen to hear your opinion on the French buying up some of the land in the South of England to plant grapes as they believe the terrior is suitableto that of Champagne. Any chance of doing a show on English varietals…Bacchus or Seyval Blanc.

QOTD: Have no understanding of the American college system so cannot respond…sorry

  • Christopher Scoggin

Double fun… A blind tasting and college made wines.

Always love the blind tastings and the less polished, less “professional” wines gave it a little something extra.

    Great stuff as usual.

QOTD: Don’t follow college sports so don’t really have a favorite but if push came to shove I would have to go with CU/CSU as a Colorado boy 🙂

    Great episode again.
It’s really a pity that no universities in my country make any wine, or at least that they are not known if they do produce wine.

  • As they say, those that can…do. Those that can’t…teach. I am sure that the students and teachers were very proud of their flawed wines. Put down your books (and your bongs) and go work at a winery and learn how to make wine from a real winemaker who does it for a living.

    O-H (short pause) I-O

Michigan State = watery sour patch kids spritzed with anger?!?!!? What a crazy description for a taste. Looks like you have a new t-shirt idea and I will be first in line to buy.
QOTD: Ohio State in the house, though I’m not sure we could have done much better than MSU if we had made a wine.
