line of the day – ‘Big blackberry flavours exploding on my nose like a grenade’

Barnstorming episode featuring GV at his best. When he goes on about the nuances of different vintages his knowldege is scary. The visible wince when trying the last wine is classic Gary, and sticking the wooden box on his chair as an Oak Monster substitute made me laugh. A classic.

Congrats on 700 Gary!! Cant waith to watch the next 300 🙂

QOTD: Thats really a tough QOTD. What makes this so tough is the fact, that I have no high speed internet access at home. So when I first started watching this show in the spring of 2007 it was at my bor in laws house. So I could only catch a few episodes here and there.

Now, at work…. The vids are no longer blocked!! So I can listen to the vids as I work, and its been great. I just have so much to catch up on!.

A couple of shows that pop into my mind are. Episode #444 helped my pick a champagne for our 10 year wedding anniversary last year. (LEGRAS CHARDONNAY DE VIEILLES VIGNES) which I spilt half of while opening :(.

Or the more recent videos of you tasting bordeax at different chateaus in france. I couldnt find the episodes #s right off hand.

Thanks for all the moments. I have and am still enjoying them.

Hey Gary V no shout out today, but that’s okay. I agree with Ken P: tasting wine in the parking lot of Wine Library was a lot of fun. The wind was blowing the glass across the table and you spat the wine out in the snow instead of the wine bucket was classic.

I also liked the one with Web 2.0 host Joann Colan. Jancis Robinson was good. Jeffrey Davies too. Need we mention the one with little Mish a while back?

    Congrats to #700

Thank you so much, Gary, for all of the time you have dedicated to this show! I thought this was a fitting episode for the landmark and enjoyed it very much. Putting the box in the chair was hilarious. That “will it blend” stuff is ridiculous and it somehow reminds me of you. I’m not even sure I know why. My most memorable single episode was probably #568. 628/629, 684/685, the Sir Gary episodes, and so many of the ones in the 100-300 range are right up there, too.

    WOW! GARY!!!!!!
    Congratulations on 700 episodes!!!

QOTD: I wish I could remember THE episode, but I know it was the 1st one I saw…and I think it was sometime in June 2007! After much wine discussion w/Glen DiGirolamo (winecrazy.com) he finally said, Hey check out this guy on this site..watch him every day…every single day. And I DID!
I do have to say tho, after watching for a while, my all time favorite is your appearance on Ellen. It was funny..and genuine..

Thank you so much for all you do Gary!!! Love u!

It was Episode 486 when I realized that wine is not just some fancy “Mixed” drink you buy to say hey look at me I’m Drinking “X”. But it carries a story and experience that is meant to be shared – Good or Bad.

My mother had died from cancer at 39 and This Episode help me tell my Moms story and helped tell the 2 Brothers story. Remembering and Celebrating Life with Family and Friends.

QOTD: The first show I watched you described a wine as smelling so sweet, it was like, “that kid back in school that would bring a lot of candy in his backpack and you wanted that candy, that’s how sweet this smells”

That was hilarious but I totally got it.

    Congrats on #700 Gary.

Gary 684 was without question the episode with your best guest of all time. The question of the day, “Can you tell by tasting your wine if the wine maker was female or male?” was so Don-Wan its ridicules.
All episodes with “Sasha” are always amusing. However, getting back to the wine, I can’t pinpoint any particular episodes. I am more partial to old world focused shows, as well as shows that identify upcoming varietals from less common regions (Portugal). Business talk and cellaring are also topics where I enjoy hearing what you have to say.

    Keep it up Mr. Vaynerchuk.

It’d be interesting to have a show where you related wines to music.
I mean if we can relate cheese with wine why not music.

For example, what wine would fit the mood for a song such as: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5x1fslMklhY

    Good job on #700

My favorite time watching you was with Conan! I laughed so hard and realized that wine wasn’t rocket science. I work at a Washington winery and try my best to make wine as approachable as you make it. Thanks for keeping me entertained on my runs while I listen to your podcasts.

I think the parking lot in winter was very funny. As I suggested before, please do at least one for each of the seasons. Also, I think it might be interesting to do a humorous walk through the store, and show us around, and talk to a few of the sales people and customers. It would be hilarious to see Sasha help someone pick out a bottle of wine.

  • Thanks Gary, thank you so much for going back and reading old comments and realizing that the classic WLTVs without all the crappy famous guests, or flipcams, or other gag-shows – Without all that, your classic shows are the best. I really, really hope I can join you for episode 1000. Please do it in SF!

QOTD: Episode #549 – Best & most Authentic GUEST EVER!!!!!

  • Thunder Cruise, it’s the only one I watched twice.

PS I’m drinking the Soos Creek right now and it’s da bomb shit yo! Going to check to see if you got more.

First time comment… Great show. I too really appreciate the “old format” as that is why I was truly drawn to the show.

QOTD: I don’t remember the number, but it was the episode where you had the 15 dollar wine from the Oklahoma Community College Students. Your reaction to that was priceless!

Thanks for all the great shows!
