Pizza Boy sucked his web site sucks but Gary I’m a little dissapointed in since I watch every episode. Also realizing how gifted you are. When your guest sucks and you dont like them you can tell it shows right through. You can make them better guest but its how you interact with them. When they suck it is your job to bring them out of there shell. I mean i got to sit through the whole episode and it is a bit dis-jointed (your term) when I got to see alot of uncomfortablity. its just awkward. Puts me in a bad mood. Lets go EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!

My goodness, why is everyone slamming Pizza Boy? He did a fine job on the show…he does not drink wine, so, how do you expect him to weigh in on the vino? He did try to talk about the pizza, but did not get much opportunity for that. I am not going to slam Gary for “interrupting” because I think he has greatly improved in terms of interrupting guests, and hosting a show like WLTV is a lot harder than it looks (I assume).

Personally I think it all boils down to this; Gary was offended that this man came to his show with one intention. To promote his own agenda. I would have been offended as well.

I also highly doubt that Gary eats his pizza with the cheese pealed off. Lapp made a comment that cheese is what makes the pizza. Taking it off the pizza was a poke at Lapp.

Gary, Maybe you could send him a bottle of that Maniaco Montepulciano D’abruzzo For Christmas.

Work in a liquor store, had shaya about a week and a half ago and LOVED IT!!! so glad you reveiwed and loved it too, no i am not so worried about the recomendations i have been giving. I got alot more mango and pear cup juice on the nose if that makes sense but it is an awesome wine at an awesome price.

Really wish you acknowleded that Long Island sucks a big one, and thats why he moved to florida to root for the crappy dolphins. New JErsey is king and long island is full of two lane roads + a holes. Only one more month to the J!E!T!S! baby.

In watching the episode my initial impression was the guest didn’t bring that much too the table. Agreed he didn’t get the opportunity. After reading every single comment and seeing Lapp’s responses I am becoming increasingly frustrated…

Yes, its totally FINE you don’t drink wine. However,I agree with ex-Lurkdog and Roger Stevens that the show just didn’t work because it was crystal clear you were there with one purpose in mind and that was promoting the people that upgraded your website. Scratch my back and I scratch yours. You came right out and said it at the end of the show. At times during the show when Gary was talking about wine you looked completely disinterested. There is a contingent of loyal viewers here that enjoy learning about wine and innovative things happening in the wine and food industry. I could care less about you getting discounted web development service.

I have no doubts that you know pizza expert and are a true topical expert, but this was just the wrong show for you. Your intentions came across as manipulative and as a viewer I feel used after watching the show. I’m not being malicious, just giving my honest opinion as a daily consumer of Gary’s show.

I’m sure that the shaya rueda would be excellent with pizza dough and with the white pizzas. Once you put toppings on and get some red pizza sauce on however, you might want a heartier wine. I like pepperoni but tomatoes, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, green chile are good too.

Like the second wine, show seemed a little disjointed and hallow. Something was missing. Not enough about what makes a good pizza. . . wine with a guest who is not interested in wine. I guess a bad show is bound to happen in all you have done.

Great though to hear about the Verdejo. Had one over the weekend and it was fantastic. Will try it with za. Never thought of the combo.

Guest was a major pazzzzz. What did he actually bring? He didn’t try the wines, he didn’t talk about pizza.

Sheesh.

I would have loved to talk about pizza more and about the places we got the pizza from. It was my first time trying them and both pies were from places that my wife randomly chose.

Guys I wasn’t there to promote and manipulate. I was there to discuss pizza with the wine expert. I was trying to show both Gary and his viewers the power he possesses. When I announced that I was going to be on the show people made all sorts of offers to me.

Based upon my conversations with Gary before and after, it didn’t appear at all that he “hated” me ad some of you state. Yes it is a wine show, but previous episodes have dealt with frozen foods and wine and they got more of a say.

If I came across as a dud, and didn’t crush it, it was cause I don’t know how to bring thunder to wine conversations. Come eat pizza with me and I will bring the thunder! Everyone is good at what they know. Hope you give the pizza reviews a better chance then my appearance. I KNOW PIZZA!

Poor Gary…..That dude was a tool! What type of pizza expert is he when he doesnt even fold his slice before he takes a bite. That show was tough to watch, like going to the dentist and not having novacaine.

I hope one day you revisit wine and pizza pairings as I think it would be a cool show and on of your most viewed. Mulligan!

This show was a bit of a downer. But one out of 714 is still pretty awesome!!!

I’m not going to be rude like the some of the others as I think you are probably passionate about pizza, however it didn’t come across that way.

I think you may have been way out of your comfort zone. I hope Gary won’t mind me saying this, In my opinion he likes to feed off the energy of his guests, bringing out the best in them.

I think because you weren’t tasting the wine in the beginning, you didn’t appear focussed/interested in what was going on. You seemed to be in awe of Gary. Afraid to interrupt him.

If I were a guest on his show and I had something to promote I would take every opportunity to promote it.

Everyone can bring the thunder, have the confidence to do it, even if you’re not on home turf.
