Was a great tasting! The 1945 was still a really interesting wine even after having my palete blasted by some of the more agressive earlier wines. My favourite 2 wines of the tasting though were the Clarendon Hills Old Vines Romas (number 17) and the Clos Erasmus 2007 Priorat (number 11). These types of tastings should be a lot more available for the wine consumer rather for just the trade. Still have a big issue about these massive wines being pushed such as many of the Rhones etc. There is no need to have such high alcohol levels in these wines. People need wines promoted that aren’t going to blow their heads off and can be enjoyed now!!! Was still great to see a reminder of the tasting and to see that I wasn’t the only one not wearing a suit!!

Really loved this show and everything about it…totally my style.

QOTD: “Wine & Swine” BBQ at Joe Bastianich’s house. Mainly because of the people and not the wine itself. 2nd that was my apt a few weeks ago with a dozen friends trying everything from petite syrah, to viognier and Portuguese reds for the 1st time.
