QOTD: Well, this is past tense, but we started with a Garretson Winery Roussanne before dinner. With the turkey and fixings, we had a 2001 Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf-du-Pape (which was outstanding, albeit a little young).

QOTD: Turkey Day happened already, but my wine picks for a varied group were a big success, especially the Vila Verde Vinho Verde.

Vayner- we had your 4 pack- the pinot was a huge hit. How many times can you twist the knife in my heart with the steelers loss references?

I had a 2005 Ken Wright Cellars Oregon Pinot Noir with the meal on Thursday.
It was an outstanding effort - a bit young.
I also had a 2004 Mesh Eden Valley Riesling from Australia, which went quite nicely with the Turkey Soup the next day.

Cool that you were going bonkers on a Minervois. I have a 1999 Minervois that I pulled from my cellar for the long weekend. I have had this wine before and it blows me away!

Hey Gary - happy Thanksgiving! I’m watching this while making stuffing for Thankgiving dinner. I’m bringing the stuffing and the wines to dinner. Most of the wines are stuff I need to uncork before they get to be too old.

    2003 J. Lohr Riverstone Chardonnay
2002 BV Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
    2002 Alex Sotelo Zinfandel
    2003 Shenandoah Zingiovese
    2003 Shenandoah Sangiovese Reserve
    2001 Savannah-Channel Piere’s Ghost (zin-blend)

and a home made 2001 Zinfandel-Carignon blend from Paso Robles from a friend

Start with a Washington Crossing apple wine in honor of our American heritage; then give a choice of a Washington Crossing viognier or a Gravity Hills zinfandel for those preferring a red.

Peachy morninig drink: Bellini (presecco and fresh white peach juice, invented at Harry’s Bar in Venice) a must have, especially with their carpaccio (which they also invented).

QOTD - having dinner with friends, so we have a line-up going:
    1) L’aventure Rose (Paso Robles West Side) - a rose of syrah & cab - bone dry & cranberries throughout.
    2) Wild Hog Zin (Sonoma County) - My current favorite Zin - big & jammy
    3) Rex Hill Chehalem Mtns Cuvee Pinot Noir (Oregon) - a 3rd bottle if needed
Not sure what my friends are bringing, but I am sure it will be good
We were going to bring the suprise pack, but didn’t get on it fast enough & missed out …. maybe next time

We’re watching this a day late but enjoyed it with a Pinot Noir. We will have to look for those French wines that you liked so much.

QOTD: Probably sparkling cider with my family. But when we come home…

    Nice show, Gary!

Good recall on the werther’s original flavor. I mentioned that regarding a port the other night in an email to you, so that jumped out at me as a flavor I’d recognize right away. You semi-panned the wine, but I’m still going to try it. :)

    QOTD: No idea yet.

QOTD: Not sure yet. Tomorrow,I will spend some time down in the basement looking over the stock and see what jumps out at me.

Snagged a few of the Les Clauses. Sounded good.
